Sigma fp L Rumored to be Announced Soon

The Sigma fp L mirrorless camera with L-mount is rumored to be announced at “SIGMA STAGE Online”, which is scheduled around 21:00 on March 23rd. It is reported that the Sigma fp L is expected to be equipped with a 60-megapixel full-frame CMOS image sensor, with body anti-shake function and mechanical shutter design.

The successor to the original Sigma fp model has been revealed in a series of official-looking product images ahead of the next Sigma Stage presentation that will take place virtually next week.

Sigma Confirms New DG DN Sports Lenses in Development

During the CP+ event Sigma streamed a new chat video. In this CP+ presentation Sigma confirmed that a new DG DN Sports lens is currently in the final stage of development.

On February 26, Yasuhiro Osone, general manager of Sigma’s product planning department, stated that the new DG DN | Sports full-frame mirrorless telephoto lens is under development. Our guess is this “DG DN” Sports zoom lens could be the 70-200mm f/2.8 that was rumored for some time. More details about the New Sigma DG DN Sports Lenses after the break!

World’s Lightest Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens Announced

Sigma has announced a new Contemporary-series full-frame mirrorless zoom lens, the .  The US price is $899 and it is now available for pre-order at  B&H Photo / Amazon and Adorama. Shipping is scheduled to start on March 12, 2021.

Available in Sony E and Leica L mounts, the 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN C lens is based on Sigma’s existing 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens, but starting the new zoom’s focal length at 28mm results in a significantly smaller and lighter lens without sacrificing optical performance. It will compete against the Tamron 28-75mm FE. Normal-length zoom lens is designed for Sony Full Frame E-Mount cameras, however can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an 42mm – 105 equivalent focal length.

Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens Images

First images of the have been leaked online. No specs have been released along with the images. The lens will be officially announced on February 24, 2021, just before the CP+ 2021.

Available in Sony E and Leica L mounts, the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary  and it will compete against the Tamron 28-75mm FE. The US price of the zoom lens will be around $900.

Along with the Sigma FE 28-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens, the manufacturer will also announce the Sigma fp L camera and the new external electronic viewfinder EVF-11.

This will be a top pick for users looking for a lightweight all-around zoom, the FE 28-70mm f/2.8 Lens from Sigma will be a great go-to for Full Frame E-Mount shooters. The lens can also be used with APS-C models where it provides an 42mm – 105 equivalent focal length.

Canon and Sony Dominates the Japanese Market Sales

BCN Awards has released their camera and lens market share report for 2020 in Japan. BCN Ranking collects real sales data from approximately 40% of the Japanese retailers – this is not a worldwide report.

Also CAPA Camera announced the top-selling camera rankings for the second half of December 2020. The Canon EOS R5 wins the NO. 1 best selling camera, Sony a7C with 28-60mm lens kit was the second on the list while the Sony a7S III coming in third place.

Among the top 10, Sony has 5 models and Canon has 3. Both companies dominated the top 8 models and showed a good fight in that.
