New Firmware Update Coming to Solve the Canon EOS R5/R6 IBIS Issue

Major Canon firmware update is on the horizon. According to recent reports, Canon will release a new firmware update to address the IBIS shift/tilt on the Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6 cameras. The exact release date is unknown at the moment but we think it will be soon be available.

Canon EOS C300S, C500S & C700DR Cinema Cameras Coming for NAB 2021

Pentax K-3 Mark III Firmware Update 1.01 released

Ricoh has released a firmware version 1.01 update for its latest flagship Pentax K-3 Mark III APS-C SLR camera.

The new firmware brings the following improvements:

  • Improved stability of performance when battery power is low condition.
  • Corrected – In rare cases, images are not recorded correctly when shooting continuously in RAW format.
  • Improved stability for general performance.

Sony Registers “WW734234” code – possible Sony A7 IV Camera

Sony recently registered a new camera with the model code “WW734234“.  We think that this could be the highly anticipated Sony A7 IV camera.

The registered “WW734234” camera uses 5.1 Ghz WiFi Module which is used by Sony fullframe E-mount camera systems.

Currently, Sony has a total of 2 unannounced camera codes registered.

Successor of Sony A6600 to be Announced Soon

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.10 to 1.20

  • • Improved live view focus-point display response during face/eye-detection and subject-tracking AF.
  • • Improved the performance of face/eye-detection AF and subject visibility with optional flash units.
  • • Improved low-light autofocus detection times at a Focus mode setting of Single AF.
  • • Fixed the following issues:
    • – Selecting Focus for Custom Setting a1 (AF-C priority selection) would sometimes slow shutter response.
    • – Focus accuracy was sometimes unreliable.
    • – Using custom Picture Controls created with Manage Picture Control when recording movies at a frame size/rate of 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD); 60p or 50p would sometimes produce unexpected results.

Nikon Z6 Firmware Version 3.30

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 3.20 to 3.30

  • • A Save focus position option has been added to the SETUP MENU. If On is selected, the focus position in effect when the camera is turned off will be restored when the camera is next turned on. This option applies only when the camera is used with Z mount autofocus lenses.
  • • A Voice memo option has been added to the roles that can be assigned to the Movie record button via Custom Setting f2 (Custom control assignment). In the Voice memo role, the movie-record button can be used to record and play voice memos up to about 60 seconds long while a picture is displayed.
  • • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the camera to stop responding when time-lapse movie recording was interrupted.

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 3.20 to 3.30

  • • A Save focus position option has been added to the SETUP MENU. If On is selected, the focus position in effect when the camera is turned off will be restored when the camera is next turned on. This option applies only when the camera is used with Z mount autofocus lenses.
  • • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the camera to stop responding when time-lapse movie recording was interrupted.

Nikon Z5 Firmware Version 1.10

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.02 to 1.10

  • • A Save focus position option has been added to the SETUP MENU. If On is selected, the focus position in effect when the camera is turned off will be restored when the camera is next turned on. This option applies only when the camera is used with Z mount autofocus lenses.
  • • Improved low-light autofocus detection times for Custom Setting a11 (Low-light AF).

Nikon Z50 Firmware Version 2.10

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 2.03 to 2.10

  • • A Save focus position option has been added to the SETUP MENU. If On is selected, the focus position in effect when the camera is turned off will be restored when the camera is next turned on. This option applies only when the camera is used with Z mount autofocus lenses.
  • • Fixed an issue that resulted in the option selected for Custom Setting a2 (Auto-area AF face/eye detection) in P, S, A, and M modes being reset whenever Custom Settings for mode U1 or U2 were reset.

Canon EOS R3 Rumored to Feature 45MP with Quad-Pixel AF

Here are the first set of Canon EOS R3 Specifications. According to latest updates; the already in development Canon EOS R3 will feature 45MP image sensor with pixel-shift and Quad-Pixel Autofocus. 

We know that the Canon R3 will feature a new Canon-developed back illuminated stacked CMOS sensor. The sensor will be powered by DIGIC X imaging processor, 30fps burst shooting with AF/AE tracking, an integrated grip design with professional levels of weather-proofing.

FUJIFILM Releases New Digital Camera Control Software Development Kit for X and GFX Series Cameras

FUJIFILM Releases New Digital Camera Control Software Development Kit
TOKYO, April 22, 2021 – FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) is pleased to announce the release of the FUJIFILM X Series and GFX System Digital Camera Control Software Development Kit (SDK), which will help software developers integrate the functionality of FUJIFILM X Series and GFX System cameras into any applications that are currently being developed. Available on April 22, 2021 the SDK will allow developers to initiate the automatic transfer of images, from a supported Fujifilm camera, to a computer using a Windows*1 or macOS*2 operating system. Remote access to the basic controls of any supported Fujifilm camera is also supported. Information regarding the conversion of the RAW image data contained in Fujifilm’s proprietary RAF file is not provided with this SDK.
