Nikon Z TC-1.4x & TC-2x Teleconverters now in Stock

Nikon introduced two new teleconverters with its professional Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon) telephoto zoom: The Z TC-1.4x and TC-2.0x teleconverters are designed for Nikon’s Z-series mirrorless cameras and corrected for full-frame sensors. The Nikon Z TC-1.4x & TC-2x teleconverters are now in stock and shipping at major US stores.

Teleconverters are mounted between the lens and the camera body and magnify the image by 1.4x or 2.0x thus effectively increasing the focal length of each lens by the same amount. Unfortunately lenses have to be designed to work with teleconverters and currently the Nikon Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S is the only lens which can be used with Nikon’s new TC-1.4x and TC-2.0x. But Nikon will certainly add more lenses to their Z line-up in the future which can use teleconverters.

The fully-manual lens features an all-metal construction and is comprised of 12 elements in 10 groups, including one double-side aspherical element and two extra-low dispersion elements. It has an aperture range of F4 through F22 and uses a ten-blade aperture diaphragm, which helps to create the signature sunstars this lens is named after. Official : Nikon Will No Longer Provide International Warranty

Nikon has announced it will no longer provide a international warranty for its products. Instead, the company says it will transition to regional warranties for interchangeable lenses and accessories by the end of this month.

Nikon says the change will affect ‘NIKKOR interchangeable lenses (F mount and Z mount lenses, mount adapters, etc.) and accessories (Speedlights, etc.).

Nikon to end 70 years of camera production in Japan

After 70 years Nikon to end camera production in Japan, manufacturing moving to Thailand by the end of 2021. Japanese publication AERAdot (translated) has reported that Nikon is ending domestic camera production in Japan.

Cost-cutting is the main reason for the move. The Nikon factory in Sendai will continue to play an important role in future camera production. Currently, Z6 & Z7 and Z-mount lens production have already moved to Thailand, and D6 production will be moved to Thailand by the end of 2021. More details after the break ! Nikon released new firmware updates for the Z6 II and the Z7 II mirrorless cameras. Firmware version 1.02 for Nikon Z6 II ad version 1.01 for Nikon Z7 II fixes several issues and improves overall reliability.
