Canon has announced its EOS R5 C mirrorless camera is now approved for Netflix productions, joining a long list of other Canon EOS cameras approved by the popular streaming service.
The Canon EOS R5 C joins the EOS C500 Mark II, EOS C300 Mark III, EOS C70, EOS C300 Mark II, EOS C700 FF, EOS C700, and EOS C500 cameras on Netflix’s approved camera list. Since Netflix is one of the largest providers of original video content, the ability to submit your project for the company’s consideration is key.
With the EOS R5 C Firmware Version 188.8.131.52 update, the full-frame, mirrorless R5 C gains improved Canon Log 3 image quality when shooting in XF-AVC or MP4 formats. This latest update also improves the overall image quality and camera operability.
The EOS C70 is a new generation RF Mount Cinema EOS System camera featuring Canon’s 4K Super 35mm DGO sensor. With 4K 120P Slow Motion, High Dynamic Range and Dual Pixel CMOS AF in a compact body, it takes the RF System into a brand-new era.
Firmware Version 184.108.40.206 incorporates the following fix:
1. Fixes an issue, in which, in rare instances, the camera cannot be normally operated when operating the REC button with the camera set to the [Continuous Recording] function.
– Firmware version 220.127.116.11 is for updating EOS C70 cameras running firmware version 18.104.22.168 – 22.214.171.124. If your camera’s firmware is already version 126.96.36.199, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Once the camera is updated to the latest version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.
– Please refrain from loading menu settings generated using the most recent firmware version to a product running an old firmware version, as doing so may affect camera operations.
Sony has announced the FX30, a compact digital cinema camera that shares the same body design as the older FX3, but upgrades from full-frame to an all-new back-illuminated 26MP APS-C sensor that captures Super35 4K video.
The new Sony FX30 sits below the FX3 in Sony’s E-mount cinema camera lineup and is designed to bridge the gap between what budding creators want and what’s being released for the professional market.
Compared to the Sony FX3 (approx. $3,898 on Adorama | B&H | Amazon), which features a 4K direct-sampling full-frame sensor with ISO 409,600, the Sony FX30 instead uses a Super35 sensor with 6K sampling and ISO 32,000. 6K resolution.
Sony today has officially announced a new model in its Cinema line, the FR7. The Sony FR7 is the world’s first pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera to combine a full-frame image sensor, an interchangeable lens design, and remote shooting functionality. Canon is rumored to announce new RF mount Cinema EOS cameras Cinema EOS C300S and Cinema EOS C500S later this year. Now looks like Canon will announce a new line of RF mount prime lenses along with these three new Cinema EOS cameras.
