According to a leaked screenshot of a new camera manual, Nikon will announce a new mirrorless camera that features 60.8MP (9552×6364) sensor which is able to shoot 16-bit RAW NEF files (Nikon will introduce a lossy compressed RAW codec to reduce the file size). The previous rumors claimed that the IMX455 Sony 61MP sensor which is already used on Sony A7R IV will be on the next Nikon full frame mirrorless camera. Possible candidate for this sensor is the Nikon Z8.
Back in April 2019, we reported that both Nikon D860 and Nikon Z8 cameras might use 60MP IMX455AQR Sensor from Sony. The Sony IMX455AQR sensor features 60MP, 8k video, and offers native 64 ISO. As you might remember Nikon has signed up to purchase the new Sony 61MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor. The 61MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor showed itself on the newly announced Sony a7R IV mirrorless camera.

Japanese business publication Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun made an interview with Nikon’s CEO, Mr. Toshikazu Umatate. In this interview he says a flagship mirrorless camera—equivalent to Nikon’s D5 DSLR—will be introduced.
There were rumors about the Nikon D6 DSLR camera that is coming before 2020 Olympics. Nikon Z9 PRO FF mirrorless camera is rumored to be capable of 8K video recording.
At Apple’s WWDC 2019 event to demonstrate the video editing capabilities of new Mac Pro, Apple team used a 8K movie created by Ami Vitale who is a National Geographic photographer and also a brand ambassador for Nikon.

Nikon is rumored to purchase the new Sony 60MP sensor called the IMX455. The Sony IMX455AQR sensor features 60MP, 8k video, and offers native 64 ISO.
As you might remember Sony will allegedly announce two new sensors. One of them will be capable of 60 megapixel stills, 16 channels, and 8K video recording. The other one is 36MP BSI stacked sensor which will probably be used on the Sony A9 II.

Sony is reportedly working on a full-frame sensor which will shoot 102 MP photos and 6K videos. The sensor is named as IMX555CQR and it will shoot high-resolution photos in 12,288 x 8,192 image size (that’s 12K in video terms).
