Best Memory Cards for Sony a7R IV

Best SD memory cards for Sony a7R IV mirrorless camera. Here is the guide for you to get the top recommended & fastest SD cards for Sony a7R IV.

The new Sony a7R IV mirrorless camera has two memory card slots that both support the ultra-fast UHS-II SD cards. This will allow you to maintain great speeds while still recording backup to a second card, and you should spend a little more money to get a UHS-II card if you want the fastest possible results. Featuring a 61MP Full-Frame Exmor R BSI CMOS Sensor and enhanced BIONZ X image processor, the Sony a7R IV can offer impressively high-resolution stills and video while minimizing noise, improving speed, and achieving a wide 15-stop dynamic range. In addition, the Sony a7R IV enables internal UHD 4K30p video recording with a wide 14-stop dynamic range, and it avails fast continuous shooting at up to 10 fps at full resolution with full-time AF/AE.

Simply put, the Sony a7R IV (AmazonB&HAdorama) is an ideal mirrorless camera for enthusiasts, hobbyists and professionals alike. So, in order to get the best out of the Sony a7R IV camera, some fast enough and reliable SD memory cards are your best choice. Since the Sony a7R IV takes UHS-II memory cards in both slots, we recommend using dual UHS-II memory cards. However, if you are just shooting JPEG backups to card slot 2, then you will be able to get away with a UHS-I card.

Below is our list of best & recommended SD memory cards for Sony a7R IV mirrorless camera. Just choose the one you like. Continue reading “Best Memory Cards for Sony a7R IV”

Nikon Z8 Rumored to Feature 60MP Sensor and 16-bit NEF Files

According to a leaked screenshot of a new camera manual, Nikon will announce a new mirrorless camera that features 60.8MP (9552×6364) sensor which is able to shoot 16-bit RAW NEF files (Nikon will introduce a lossy compressed RAW codec to reduce the file size). The previous rumors claimed that the IMX455 Sony 61MP sensor which is already used on Sony A7R IV will be on the next Nikon full frame mirrorless camera. Possible candidate for this sensor is the Nikon Z8.

Back in April 2019, we reported that both Nikon D860 and Nikon Z8 cameras might use 60MP IMX455AQR Sensor from Sony. The Sony IMX455AQR sensor features 60MP, 8k video, and offers native 64 ISO. It’s being said that the Sony 60MP sensor PDAF is supposed to be better than the Multi-CAM 20000 currently used in some Nikon cameras. See Sony A7R IV specifications.
