As you know the Fujifilm XApp replaces the old Camera Remote app for users of supported cameras and will be the new default going forward. Fujifilm has just released version 1.02 for their Fujifilm X App for iOS here and for Android here.
The newly introduced FUJIFILM X-S20 mirrorless digital camera is manufactured to automatically be compatible with the new FUJIFILM XApp without added firmware.
Additionally, the following GFX System and X Series models are also compatible, subject to downloading of Fujifilm’s latest firmware release:
Many FUJIFILM cameras got new firmware updates that bring support for the newly launched XApp as well as some minor “setup menu setting functions” optimization. These cameras include the following models:
At X Summit BKK 2023 (see live blog here), Fujifilm has updated its range of mirrorless cameras with the introduction of the Fujifilm X-S20 and the new Fujifilm XF 8mm f/3.5 lens. In addition the company released firmware updates for 13 camera bodies for both GFX and X-Series models.
The Fujifilm X-S20 will be available from the end of June 2023 priced at $1299 while the XF 8mm F3.5 Lens will be available for $799 at the same time.
Fujifilm announced the launch of “Fujifilm XApp”, a new app for use with the GFX / X Series of digital cameras. The app will be released for download on May 25, 2023.
FUJIFILM already has a camera remote app on the market, but some were complaining about limited functionality including connectivity issues between their FUJIFILM cameras and smart devices.
The new XApp is addressing exactly those issues. FUJIFILM is advertising the new XApp with seamless, quicker connectivity.
The second new feature of the XApp is that you can transfer images while the camera is still recording or even when it is completely powered off. The App also comes with a new high-contrast design in black and white for better visibility. When you connect your camera via Bluetooth, you have a live view function and can control start/stop recording next to your camera settings, like aperture, ISO, and shutter speed.

Fujifilm will officially announce Fujifilm X-S20 and XF 8mm F3.5 Lens at “X Summit BKK 2023″ on May 24, 2023. Here are the rumored price info and updated specs that have been leaked on the web.
Fujifilm X-S20: $1,299
Fujifilm XF 8mm F3.5 R WR Lens: $799
Fujifilm X-S10 is now for $999, so Fujifilm X-S20 is a 30% price more expensive than Fujifilm X-S10. The price of the X-S20 seems to be significantly higher than the X-S10, but it may be unavoidable because the prices of cameras from other companies have also been raised.
The upcoming Fujifilm X-S20 mirrorless camera and XF 8mm F3.5 R WR lens are both expected to be announced at “X Summit BKK 2023” on May 24, 2023.
The Fujifilm X-S20 appears to have the same sensor as its predecessor, the X-S10. However, with the 6K30p and 4K60p features that are said to include on the video side, the X-S20 promises to be much more attractive for people who use video frequently. With the replacement of the image processing engine, it promises lightning fast and sharp focusing with every shot, instilling hope for a significant improvement in autofocus performance.
The Fujifilm X-S20 will be equipped with the mighty X-Processor 5 Image Processor, ensuring that every detail of your captures is flawlessly processed, allowing your creativity to soar to new heights. Before the X-S20 announcement, we can also compare it to its sibling, the X-H2, which has the same powerful X-Processor 5. Supports up to a mind-blowing 8K 30p video resolution. As a result, it’s natural to ponder the possibilities of the X-S20. Considering its prowess, we can expect the X-S20 to push the boundaries even further and grace us with its ability to shoot stunning 6K 30p videos. What makes the XF 8mm F3.5 R WR lens stand out is its compact size, making it one of the smallest ultra-wide-angle lenses available. Despite its small size, the lens is versatile and can be used with filters, making it incredibly easy to use. However, the one concern for many photography enthusiasts is the potential price of the lens.
The XF 8mm F3.5 R WR lens has been highly anticipated since its development was announced at last year’s X Summit OMIYA 2022. As the lens covers the shortest focal length as a single focal length lens in the X series, many photographers are eagerly waiting to see what this lens can offer. The ultra-wide-angle lens is particularly attractive to those looking for a compact, lightweight, and highly mobile single focal length lens, as it allows for greater flexibility and ease of use.
Although the pricing and release date for the XF 8mm F3.5 R WR lens are yet to be announced, photography enthusiasts are already excited about the possibilities of this lens. With the X Summit BKK 2023 just a few days away, all eyes are on Fujifilm as they prepare to unveil their latest products and technologies.
According to latest rumors , the upcoming Fujifilm X-S20 will use 26 MP BSI X-Trans IV sensor, the same as the current Fujifilm X-S10 camera. This new camera will also be using with NP-W235 Battery.
