Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM Lens Images and Specs

Here are the leaked images and specs for the Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM lens. The telephoto optic is rumored to be announced soon (November 2nd, 2023). The focus is USM driven and comes with a tripod ring and a black lens hood.

This highly anticipated Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM lens appears to be USM-driven, promising fast and accurate autofocus performance. One of its distinctive features is its “white lens” design, which aligns with previous speculations. While it bears a resemblance to Canon’s L series lenses at first glance, it lacks the iconic red ring and rubber cover on the focus ring, giving it a unique “non-L” appearance.

With an impressive focal range reaching 800mm at the telephoto end, the lens doesn’t compromise on portability, as it seems manageable in size. It’s worth noting that the design may have incorporated DO (Diffractive Optics) elements to reduce its bulk and weight, making it a versatile choice for photographers seeking a long-range zoom lens without the need for teleconverters. The pricing is speculated to be around $2,000/€2,500, making it an enticing option for wildlife and sports photographers looking to capture distant subjects in stunning quality. Rumors: Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L / f.1.4L USM Lens Coming in Two Version

According to rumors, Canon may release two versions of the highly anticipated RF 35mm f/1.2 or f/1.4L USM prime lens. The aperture for the Canon RF 35mm, which is among the most anticipated RF-series Canon lenses until now, has not been finalized yet.

Canon plans to announce two variations of the 35mm L-series lens before the end of 2023. While Canon shooters also await other unreleased lenses, insiders expect numerous new RF optics will be announced in the next six months. An internal zoom RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM is likely one of them and we also have a rumor about  RF 50mm f/1.4 which will fill the gap between the excellent but expensive RF 50mm f/1.2L and the inexpensive RF 50mm f/1.8 STM.

The speculated maximum aperture of the 35L remains uncertain. Both f/1.2 and f/1.4 apertures have appeared in patents, leaving the final specs open to debate. At this point sources seem split 50/50 on whether it will be f/1.2 or f/1.4.

While intriguing, without further confirmation these reports remain rumors. Canon has yet to officially announce development of the RF 35mm f/1.2L/f.1.4L USM in any form. We will have to wait for more concrete details to emerge.
