Sigma Unveils 16mm, 30mm, 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lenses for Fujifilm X Mount

It’s finally official. Sigma 16mm f/1.4, 30mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lenses for Fujifilm X Mount now available for pre-order. Sigma officially announced the new 16mm f/1.4, 30mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lenses for Fujifilm X Mount.

The 16mm F1.4 DC DN30mm F1.4 DC DN and 56mm F1.4 DC DN mark Sigma’s first offerings for Fujifilm’s APS-C interchangeable lens camera system and are nearly identical to their predecessors, which were previously released for Canon EF-M mount, L-mount, Micro Four Thirds and Sony E-mount cameras.

All three lenses are set to be available in April 2022 at authorized Sigma retailers.

Three Sigma Lenses Rumored for Fujifilm X-mount

In addition to the newly announced Sigma 20mm F2.0 DG DN Contemporary lens ($699 at B&HPhoto and Adorama) for Sony FE and Leica L mounts, three new Sigma lenses are on the horizon for Fujifilm X-mount.

According to the latest Fujifilm rumors, these lenses will be officially announced on February 21st, 2022. The upcoming Sigma X mount autofocus lenses will be Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN ContemporarySigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN ContemporarySigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary. Considering the other mounts, the price range for these Sigma X mount autofocus lenses goes from $339 to $479 depending on the lens.

Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN | Contemporary Lens Announced

Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN | Contemporary Lens Announced For Mirrorless Cameras. The US price is $699 and available for pre-order at B&HPhoto and Adorama.

The lens is the seventh—and widest—in the company’s premium all-metal ‘I series’ lens lineup designed for Sony E mount and L-Mount camera systems.

The lens is constructed of 13 elements in 11 groups, including one ‘F’ low dispersion element, one Special low dispersion element and three aspherical elements. Sigma has also used its Super Multi-Layer Coating and Nano Porous Coating (NPC) to reduce flaring and ghosting when shooting into bright light sources. Sigma fp L Firmware Update Version 2.00 Released

Sigma released the new firmware version 2.00 for the  Sigma fp L mirrorless camera.

[Benefits of the update]
Ver.2.00
・It adds the “False color” function where the exposure status on the screen is displayed in different colors, allowing users to easily see the exposure status of any part of the frame.
・It adds the “Focus Ring Control” function that allows users to change the movement of the focus ring to either linear or non-linear.
* 1 Only for compatible lenses.
* 2 To use this function, it is necessary to update the firmware of the compatible lens to the latest version.
・It adds the “STILL / CINE Link Settings” function that allows users to select whether or not they want to link key exposure settings between STILL and CINE modes.
* The following settings are affected: Shooting Mode, Shutter Speed, Aperture, Exposure Compensation, ISO Sensitivity
・It allows the “Screenshot” and “False color” functions to be assigned to “Custom button functions”.
・It changes the specification so that the countdown before a shot in self-timer mode (2 seconds and 10 seconds), and the exposure time for long exposures (bulb shooting and exposures of 1 second or longer) are displayed on screen.
・It adds a function available in STILL mode where information from the attached lens (focal length and shooting distance) can be displayed on screen.

The next lens from Sigma will be the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN | Contemporary. The lens will probably be in L-mount and Sony E.

Sigma lenses have been getting more and more popular in recent years. product line consists mainly of variable aperture zoom lenses for general use, such as standard and telephoto zoom lenses for APS-C cameras (the Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OS HSM Macro C, for example).

The next lens that Sigma will announce will be “18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary”. I was able to confirm the L mount and E mount from a review article of a certain photographer, but it is unconfirmed whether other mounts will be released.

Sigma 90mm f/2.8 & 24mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lenses Announced

Sigma unveiled two new lenses for Mirrorless users; the 24mm F2 DG DN Contemporary and the 90mm F2.8mm DG DN Contemporary.

The Sigma lenses, designed for E- and L-mount bodies, are all-metal and feature aperture rings and weather-sealing. Both will be available later this month for $639.

Sigma officially unveils the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports Lens.

Available in Sony E and Leica L mounts, this is the first Sports-series lens built specifically for full-frame mirrorless cameras and is also the longest DG DN lens currently available from Sigma.
