Sony Unveils the 47MP MFT Sensor that Can Shoot 8K/30p Video

Sony unveiled the details of a new 47MP MFT sensor that can shoot 8K video at 30fps.

Sony’s new IMX492 is a diagonal 23.1mm CMOS image sensor with a colour square pixel array. The multi-aspect sensor will capture 41-megapixel resolution in 4:3 mode or 35 megapixels in 17:9. The new Sony sensor records 8K video in 30p in 17:9 mode, and in 4:3 mode this drops to 25p.

The Sony IMX492 also offers 2.315μm pixel size for both the Bayer and Monochrome sensor version. No further details were provided as to availability and when we may start seeing it in cameras.

This kind of resolution for a MFT sensor is definitely huge and probably for high-end video-centric Micro Four Thirds system cameras. The new image sensor (model name IMX492LQJ) might actually show up in the successor to the Panasonic GH5S which could be named as Panasonic GH6 or the Olympus E-M1 III. Panasonic GH6 Camera Might Use Sony 41MP Sensor

According to latest reports the upcoming Panasonic GH6 camera may use the Sony 41MP Sensor [IMX594CQR].

Panasonic is rumored to announce the Lumix GH6 Micro Four Thirds camera sometime in 2020. Earlier Panasonic rumors claims that the upcoming video-centric mirrorless camera is expected to be on display at Photokina 2020 event. Possible release date of the Lumix GH6 should be at CP+ 2021 in February. The rumor mill also claims that there will be three models GH6V, GH6 and GH6X.

Confirmed : New Panasonic S1H Camera to Feature IBIS

It is now confirmed that the Panasonic S1H camera will feature a built-in IBIS (in-body image stabilization). As you know Panasonic already announced the development of the new Lumix DC-S1H 6K Full Frame Mirrorless Camera.

According to the recent rumors the upcoming Lumix Cine camera that will be announced on May 31 will be named as “Panasonic DC-S1H”. The “H” designation will stand for “hybrid”.

First images of the Panasonic 10-25mm f/1.7 lens and Panasonic 1.4x/2.0x teleconverters for L-mount have been leaked online.

Designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras, this lens should deliver superb image quality like the Nocticron 42.5mm f/1.2 or the 25mm f/1.4 MFT lens.

With a constant aperture of F1.7 throughout its 10-25mm focal range (20-50mm in 35mm terms), it is a big and heavy lens by Micro Four Thirds standards and the price would be expensive around $2,500. Panasonic Lumix G95 & Updated Lumix G Vario 14-140mm Lens Announced

Panasonic officially announced the new Panasonic Lumix G95 mirrorless camera and updated Lumix G VARIO 14-140mm F3.5-5.6 II ASPH. POWER OIS lens.

The Lumix DC-G95 (replacing the DMC-G85 mirrorless camera) comes with a 20.3MP Micro Four Thirds MOS sensor that is no low-pass filter. It can shoot up to ISO 25600, a 3″ touchscreen LCD, 4K video with pre-installed V-Log L, a microphone jack, and 4:2:2 8-bit HDMI output.
