According to a recent report from Japan’s primary newspaper Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Canon is expected to release an EOS-1D X Mark III equivalent EOS R Pro full frame mirrorless camera in 2021. Nikkan Kogyo Shimbum also said that prototype of EOS R Pro is already completed.

Canon released new firmware updates for Canon EOS R and Canon EOS RP full frame mirrorless cameras. The main change is the support for the RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM lens.
The 24-240mm includes Dynamic Image Stabilization rated to five stops. When not in use for manual focusing, a customizable control ring can be used to adjust exposure compensation, shutter speed, aperture or ISO.
The lens weighs 26.4oz / 750g and balances much better on the EOS RP. At wide angle it offers a minimum focus distance of 0.50m / 1.64ft and 0.78m / 2.56ft at telephoto. According to recent reports Canon is developing a new 63MP full frame CMOS sensor with dual pixel AF. The code name for this Canon 63MP full frame sensor is “35MM63MXSCD“.

Canon EOS R Sensor Tested at DxOMark. According to the review and test results, the 30MP CMOS sensor on the EOS R achieved an overall score of 89.
The EOS R, which has a nearly identical image sensor, but different DIGIC version (DIGIC 8 vs DIGIC 6+) to the EOS 5D Mark IV actually scored 2 points lower at 89. The EOS 5D Mark IV scored 91 points and named as best Canon sensor ever.

According to recent rumors, Canon is working on a high resolution EOS R body. The camera may have 70 Megapixel full frame DPAF sensor inside with built-in Image stabilization system. This camera is said to have dual card slots and joystick.
