Nikon Released Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Lens Firmware, Updated Webcam Utility Software

Nikon released a new firmware update for the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens and updated their webcam utility software

The new standart zoom lens for Nikon full frame mirrorless cameras is 25% smaller and 18% lighter, with a totally redesigned optical formula comprising 17 elements in 15 groups, compared to the AF-S 24-70mm F2.8 for F-mount.

Updated Nikon Z-mount Lens Roadmap 2020-2021

Along with the new Nikon Z5 mirrlress cameraNIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 Lens, Z Teleconverter TC-1.4x and Z Teleconverter TC-2x, the company also unveiled updated Z-mount lens roadmap until 2021.

The NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S is scheduled to be released before the end of the year, and will join the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S and NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S in covering wide-angle, standard, and telephoto ranges, expanding the possibilities of imaging expression for high amateur and professional photographers alike.

Video Review : NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is the Best 24-70mm f/2.8 Lens

Tony Northrup published his test results and review for the new NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Lens (B&H Photo/Adorama/Amazon).

We already know that the new standart zoom lens for Nikon full frame mirrorless cameras is 25% smaller and 18% lighter, with a totally redesigned optical formula comprising 17 elements in 15 groups, compared to the AF-S 24-70mm F2.8 for F-mount.

Tony Northrup also compares this lens with Nikon’s legendary AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR lens and Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Lens and Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Lens. He says the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens on Nikon Z6 & Z7 has best image quality and results compared to other lenses.

Nikon has officially announced NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S standart zoom lens for Nikon full frame mirrorless system.

Updated Nikon Z-mount Lens Roadmap 2019 – 2021

Nikon has updated the lens roadmap for Nikon Z-mount full frame mirrorless cameras at the CES 2019 event. There will be a total of 23 Z-mount mirrorless lenses by 2021.

Nikon is now planning to release 7 new Z Series lenses in 2020 (up from 6), with 4 of them still not yet announced. This seems to mean that one of the lenses planned for 2021 has been bumped up a year, as now there are 7 to-be-announced lenses planned for 2021 instead of the 8 that were on the original roadmap.
