Nikon Release Dedicated 3D Lut For N-Log & Support RAW Video Output For Z6 & Z7 Cameras

Nikon has introduced a dedicated LUT (lookup table) for users of the N-Log feature on the Nikon Z 7 and Z 6 cameras, allowing greater creative control in post-production. Further adding to the Z series’ capabilities for professional and advanced video creators, a new update will also be released later this year for the Z series cameras, which will enable the support of RAW video output from the camera when using a compatible ATOMOS Ninja V digital recorder.

With this firmware release, the Nikon Z7 and Z6 will be the first consumer cameras to officially support RAW video output, currently only available in professional cinema cameras. Tamron Issued Compatibility Notices for Lenses Adapted to Nikon Z6 & Z7

Upcoming Nikon Z6 & Z7 Firmware will Improve Low Light Focus Capability

Nikon will officially release the firmware updates for Nikon Z6 & Z7 on May 16th. This new firmware will add Eye-detection AF for Z6 & Z7. According to NR, this firmware will also improve low light focus capability for Z6 & Z7.

Nikon Z6 & Z7 Firmware Release Date on May 16th (Eye AF, CFexpress Support, Raw Video)

Nikon Europe said on Youtube that the firmware updates for Nikon Z6 & Z7 will be released on May 16th, 2019.

This new firmware update will add Eye-detection AF, CFexpress support and Raw video over HDMI to the Z6 and Z7, and also AF and AE improvements for Z6 & Z7.
