Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT Replacement Coming Soon

According to recent reports Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT replacement might be announced soon.

The replacement for the Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT  has been rumored since the big January price drop. However it has been delayed along with the EOS R5 and EOS R6 announcements.

Even there are no rumored specifications, the source of the rumor states that the upcoming Speedlite will be a “big step forward”.

Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT Replacement should be announced together with the Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6 in the next months. Stay tuned with us for more information.

Canon RF 70-135mm f/2L USM Lens to be Announced in Late 2020

Canon is rumored to announce the RF 70-135mm f/2L USM ​​​Lens sometime in late 2020. This RF mount telephoto zoom lens in testing by a very small group of photographers and videographers.

During the Canon EOS R5 development announcement, Canon also announced that there will be a total of 9 RF lenses coming in 2020, including already announced RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens (B&H, Adorama, Amazon) RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM lens, Extender RF 1.4x, Extender RF 2x. The Canon RF 70-135mm f/2L USM Lens was one of the lenses that is expected for 2020 launch.

Canon EOS R5 Announcement Scheduled for May 16, 2020 ?

According to a German retailer Foto Hamer, the upcoming Canon EOS R5 full frame mirrorless camera will be officially announced on May 16, 2020. The next EOS R5 passed several Bluetooth wireless certifications worldwide and already listed at Adorama and B&HPhoto.

We already know that Canon EOS R5 will be the 5D series Equivalent for Mirrorless. The new EOS R5 will be able to record 8K video at 30p with no crop. Canon EOS R Paid Firmware Update Released

Canon released a new firmware update for the Canon EOS R full-frame mirrorless camera. This is a new paid firmware update for the EOS R that better enables stop-motion photography.

The firmware, which has to be installed at a Canon service center, adds a number of features to make shooting stop motion easier. A new version of the EOS R has also been released that has the firmware already installed.

Canon EOS R6 Delayed, Coming in July

The upcoming Canon EOS R6 full frame mirrorless camera will be delayed due to coronavirus. The previous scheduled announcement date is in May, now the EOS R6 anonuncement postponed to July.

New Patents : Canon RF 90mm – 120mm F2.8 Macro Lens

Canon has several new patents in Japan. The application is for RF 90mm f/2.8 Macro, 100mm F2.8 Macro, 110mm F2.8 Macro and 120mm F2.8 Macro.

The lenses are designed for Canon full frame mirrorless camera system. From these new patents we can say that the  will likely be a new kit alternative for the next EOS R model.

Size Comparison of Canon EOS R5, Canon EOS R and Canon EOS RP

Here is a side by side comparison of the upcoming  Canon EOS R5 (Adorama, B&HPhoto), Canon EOS R (Amazon, Adorama) and Canon EOS RP (Amazon, Adorama)

From the image, you can see Canon EOS R5 inherits the overall design from the EOS R, but with the upper LCD mounted and the multifunction bar changed to a joystick. The size is about the same as Canon EOS R and a little larger than Canon RP. The operation feeling is better than Canon EOS R.

The design of Canon EOS R5 has the impression that the viewfinder shape is gentler than that of the EOS R, and is closer to that of a single-lens reflex camera EOS.

Canon EOS R5 is expected to start shipping in July 2020. It is already listed at Adorama, B&HPhoto.
