Canon Releases the EOS 90D and M6 Mark II with 32MP Sensor and 4K Video

Canon has just released its brand-new EOS 90D DSLR camera and its mirrorless stablemate, the EOS M6 Mark II.

Canon 90D is a 32.5-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor with a 1.6x crop backed by a DIGIC 8 image processor. The camera has an ISO range of 100-25600 (expandable to 51200).

The Canon EOS 90D replaces the popular EOS 80D and lends itself to sports and action photography, with 10-frame-per-second continuous shooting and reduced optical viewfinder blackout.

Built for speed, like the 90D, the M6 Mark II can shoot continuously at 14 fps with AF/AE tracking and has a Raw Burst Mode of 30 fps using the electronic shutter. The EOS M6 Mark II shares many of the same core features and specs as the 90D.

Canon EOS R Firmware 1.3.0 & EOS RP Firmware 1.2.0 Released

Canon released new firmware updates for Canon EOS R and Canon EOS RP full frame mirrorless cameras.  The main change is the support for the RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM lens.

The 24-240mm includes Dynamic Image Stabilization rated to five stops. When not in use for manual focusing, a customizable control ring can be used to adjust exposure compensation, shutter speed, aperture or ISO.

The lens weighs 26.4oz / 750g and balances much better on the EOS RP. At wide angle it offers a minimum focus distance of 0.50m / 1.64ft and 0.78m / 2.56ft at telephoto. Canon has filed a new patent of a very fast constant aperture with 50-80mm focal range. The patent application is for Canon RF 50-80mm f/1.1 Lens that is designed for company’s full frame mirrorless cameras.

Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L USM Lens Coming in 2020

According to recent rumors, Canon is working on a fast prime lens and it will be named as Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L USM lens.

Designed for Canon EOS R and EOS RP full frame mirrorless cameras, the new bright prime lens will be the next f/1.2 model after the RF 50mm f/1.2L and RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lenses.
