Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens for Nikon Z Announced

Venus Optics officially announced the Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens for Nikon Z mount. The US price of this lens is $399. Now the new Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens is available for Nikon APS-C body (Z50). Venus Optics lenses are sold at Adorama and B&H.

The Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2X macro APO is the first macro lens that Venus Optics designs for systems other than full-frame cameras. This is the only macro lens in the market that is capable of producing 2X life-size images and designed specially for mirrorless cameras. Nikon Z6 II Essential Movie Kit and New Firmware Ver. 1.10

Nikon has announced the new Nikon Z6 II Essential Movie Kit and new firmware Ver. 1.10 to improve the performance of the Nikon Z7 II & Z6 II.

The new Nikon Z6 II Essential Movie Kit includes the Atomos Ninja V external video recorder allowing ProRes RAW recording.

New Nikon Z6 II & Z7 II Firmware Update : Improved EyeAF and Z6II gets 4K UHD/60p

Nikon is expected to announce their details of CP+ show 2021 on February 18th, 2021. This will include a new firmware update version 1.10 for Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II.

According to the leak this new Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II Firmware Update will be available for download on February 25, 2021. Both full frame mirrorless cameras will benefit from Improved EyeAF and the Z6 II gets support for 4K UHD 60p. Atomos Ninja V Firmware Update 10.6.1 Released

Atomos has just released the latest AtomOS firmware 10.61 for the Ninja V.  With this firmware update Ninja V has now benefits of a Time-lapse function, HDMI to SDI cross conversion, and RAW over SDI.

The RAW over SDI option is already activated for those purchasing the new NINJA V Pro Kit. However, thanks to the new firmware 10.61 existing Atomos Ninja V owners can also purchase the $99 activation license (directly from Atomos) and record ProRes RAW over SDI from the Sony FX6, FX9 and other compatible cameras.
