Canon EOS R5 Registered at Korean for 5GHZ Wi-Fi

The upcoming Canon EOS R5 full frame mirrorless camera now registered at Korean RRA. According to leaked registered info, Canon EOS R5 will feature with built-in 5GHz Wi-Fi.

We already know that Canon EOS R5 will be the 5D series Equivalent for Mirrorless. The new EOS R5 will be able to record 8K video at 30p with no crop. The new Canon EOS R5 camera already listed at Adorama and B&HPhoto.

New Patent: Canon RF 8mm f/4 Fisheye Lens

Canon has filed a new lens patent for RF-mount full frame mirrorless cameras. The patent application describes the RF 8mm f/4 Fisheye lens which will be the first for Canon RF mount lineup.

This fisheye lens would be good companion for the previously patented .

Canon RF 85mm f/2 IS STM Lens Coming in 2020

Canon is rumored to be working on a new affordable RF 85mm f/2 IS STM lens. This new 85mm prime is expected to be announced in 2020.

In addition, Canon is planning to a whole line of f/2-f/2.8 non-L prime lenses with IS in the next 12 months. And these prime lenses will range from 18mm to 85mm.

Canon currently has two 85mm RF lenses for Canon EOS R and EOS RP mirrorless cameras: RF 85mm f/1.2L USM Lens ($2,699) and RF 85mm f/1.2L USM DS “Defocus Smoothing” lens ($2,999).

This is the first time we’ve heard such a RF 85mm f/2 IS STM lens coming. So just take it with a grain of salt until we can confirm the information above.

The Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens is in stock and shipping at major stores in US. The price of the lens is $2,699 and available at B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon.

New Patents for Canon RF 85mm f/1.8 & RF 100mm f/2.8 Lenses

Canon has just filed two new lens patents RF 85mm f/1.8 lens and RF 100mm f/2.8 lens. New Canon patents are for RF-mount and will be designed for company’s full frame mirrorless cameras.

Sony A7R V and Sony A9R Rumored to Feature 102MP Sensor with 6K Video

Yes the rumors is both the upcoming Sony A7R V and A9R to feature 102MP sensor with 6K video. This information is all about the new Sony IMX555CQR full frame CMOS sensor that has been leaked a while ago.

According to leaked specs sheet, this IMX555CQR sensor has 102MP resolution. It is capable to capture 6K videos using 12bit ADC with on-chip binning/line-skipping. 4K RGB 4:4:4 video with on-chip color-aware binning.

It’s a little early to talk about the Sony A7R V and Sony A9R full frame E-mount cameras. We can also foresee that the Sony A7R V announcement may extend to 2021, since both the coronavirus affecting the year 2020 and the previous model Sony A7R IV is just one year old. Canon issued a new press release that they will be hosting a Virtual Press Conference at 1pm on April 20, 2020 ‘to unveil the company’s new professional imaging products and technologies.’

We will probably see the highly anticipated Canon EOS R5Canon EOS R6, Canon Cinema EOS C300 Mark II Camcorder and a new Cinema lens on that day.

Sony A7S III & Sony A7 IV Announcement May be Postponed Due to Covid-19

According to the official press text, Sony is facing a shortage flow of resources from suppliers in Asia, having a wide-ranging impact on the manufacturing of goods in this segment.

It’s a very clear indication that the upcoming Sony products could be delayed. The most important ones are the Sony A7S III and Sony A7 IV full frame mirrorless cameras. The good thing would be to meet these highly anticipated cameras in late 2020. But before Sony will launch the first f/1.2 fast GM lens in 2020.

Fujifilm X-T40 to be Announced in early 2021

Fujifilm X-T40 to be announced in early 2021. According to recent reports the mid-range APS-c mirrorless camera is scheduled to arrive in 2021.

The camera will feature the same sensor as seen on the Fuji X-T4 and the major core specification of the shooter will remain the same.  Fuji added the IBIS in the X-T4 but we don’t expect IBIS to be in the X-T40 for marketing purposes.
