In addition to Sony’s own cameras, we can see these sensors on camera models from other manufacturers like Fuji, Panasonic and Nikon.
Let’s look at the sensor models that Sony will produce in different sizes and resolutions and can be used in cameras.
1. Sony Sensors for Micro Four Thirds System
- IMX492LQJ – 47.08M effective pixels. The IMX429 is a Micro 4/3rds format sensor, based on color square pixel array Tech. The sensor can deliver 31.3 frames per second still shot and 8K computable.
- IMX594CQR – 41MP sensor able to record DCI 4K
2. Sony APS-C Sensors for Upcoming DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras
- Sony’s IMX671AQR 43MP APS-C CMOS sensor is able to record 8K 12bit videos too! The newly developed sensor has stacked DRAM and up to 16-bit depth for stills images. We may see the high-resolution sensor in upcoming Sony A7000 mirrorless camera.
- Sony IMX510 32 Megapixel APS-C sensor (Next generation Fuji X-T series models like the Fujifilm X-T5 will probably use this one)
3. Sony Full-Frame Sensors for Upcoming DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras
- IMX 521 CQR –It’s a 15.3MP sensor with a Quad Bayer design that might have a 61MP resolution that is capable of 4K/60p and has an HDR mode. Sony A7S III is expected to use the IMX521 CAR sensor
- IMX311: 48.9MP BSI CMOS FF Sensor based on active pixel technology, The sensor can shoot up to 24 Frames per second in still picture mode.
- IMX313: 48.97MP BSI CMOS FF Sensor based on active pixel technology, The sensor can shoot up to 24 Frames per second in still picture mode.
- IMX409: 55MP BSI FF Sensor – The sensor is based on square pixel array technology. It can shoot up to 13.2 Frames per second in still picture mode.
- IMX410: 24.6MP BSI CMOS sensor. Based on Square Pixel Array Technology. At Full readout mode, the sensor can deliver 24 MP Stills at 19.FPS.
- IMX554 DQC: 30MP BSI FF Sensor. With Square Pixel Technology. At Full readout mode, the sensor can deliver 30 MP Still at 36.6FPS in still picture mode.
