In 2023 to 2024, Canon will release several new RF lenses. Below is the rumored lens roadmap for Canon RF mount lenses.
The cameras that can use the RF mount are:
- Canon EOS R – $1,799 at Amazon, B&H, Adorama.
- Canon EOS RP – $1299 at B&H, Adorama, Amazon.
- Canon EOS Ra – $2,499 at Adorama and B&H.
- Canon EOS R5 – $3,899 at Amazon, B&H, Adorama.
- Canon EOS R6 – $2,499 at Amazon, B&H, Adorama.

Along with the Canon EOS R3 development announcement, Canon has announced three new RF mount lenses, including the 400mm f/2.8, and 600mm f/4 telephoto lenses, and the 100mm f/2.8 MACRO IS USM.
The optical image stabilisation (IS) system provides up to 5.5 stops on the RF 400 and RF 600mm lenses, and up to 8-stops on the 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens when used with the Canon EOS R5 or R6 and the in-body image stabilisation. The Macro lens also offers up to 1.4x magnification, which Canon say is a Worlds first for an AF macro lens on full-frame cameras.
The Canon RF 100mm F2.8L Macro IS USM, RF 400mm F2.8L and 600mm F4L will start shipping from July. US Prices are as follows :

Here are the first leaked pictures of the upcoming Canon RF 100mm f/2.8 L MACRO IS USM lens. This is one of the three new Canon mirrorless lenses that should be announced in the next few weeks.
The announcement of the macro lens will happen along with the other two telephoto lenses: RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM lens and RF 600mm f/4L IS USM lens. Canon will soon announce the RF 600mm f/4L IS USM, RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM and RF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro lenses.
According to the latest rumors from Nokishita-C, Canon will officially announce three new RF lenses in late April.
- Canon RF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro
- Canon RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM
- Canon RF 600mm f/4L IS USM
Canon RF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro lens is probably the most requested new lens for the RF mount. Canon RF Lens Roadmap already includes the RF 90mm f/2.8L IS Macro Lens but this will be better for its aperture and focal length. bout the price tag we can clearly say that RF 100mm f/2.8 IS USM Macro Lens will cost $2,000 at the least.

This is the complete list of Canon RF Lenses. RF lenses offer higher quality, speed, and operation thanks to outstanding optical technology and design. Canon RF lenses are fast with even higher levels of optical clarity come as standard with the EOS R full frame mirrorless system.
The RF lens mount was developed by Canon and launched in 2018 to replace the EF mount. The Canon RF mount has the same 54mm diameter, but boasts a flange focal distance (the space between the lens and the sensor) of 20mm (24mm shorter than that of the EF/EF-S mount, thanks to the lack of mirror) and 12 electrical contacts (4 more than EF/EF-S, providing faster communication).
RF-mount lenses are not compatible with EF, EF-S or EF-M mount camera bodies. This means they are not backwards compatible with DSLR lenses that use the older EF mount. While Canon initially continued to develop several more EF mount DSLRs after the launch of the RF mount, they stated publicly at the beginning of 2020 that there would be no more EF lenses. Canon has filed new patents in Japan. These applications are for three super telephoto prime lenses named as RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens, RF 500mm f/4L IS USM Lens, and RF 600mm f/4L IS USM Lens.
We already know that the first super telephoto prime glass in RF-series lens lineup will be the RF 500mm f/4L. In the past, Canon tends to announce super telephoto prime lenses in pairs, so it is a possibility to expect another one like RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens.
