Ricoh GR III Firmware Update Version 1.50 Released

<Added the following enhanced features>

  • “DOF Priority (Deep)” has been added to the program line of the exposure settings.
  • The focus setting “Face Detection” is changed to “Face/Eye Detection”.
  • Added the aspect ratios “4:3” and “16:9” to “Cropping” in the image editing section of the playback settings.
  • Added “Image Rotation” to “Cropping” in the image editing section of the playback settings.
  • The monotone function has been added to “Base Parameter Adj” in the image editing section of the playback settings, and the filter effect function and color adjustment function have been added when monotone is selected.
  • When developing RAW files, you can now select “Continue” after RAW development.
  • The auto-resize (XS size) transfer function has been added when using ImageSync (version 2.1.8 or later).

Tamron 35-150mm F/2-2.8 Di III VXD Lens Announced

In addition to the second-gen version of its 28-75mm F2.8 standard zoom lens for the same system, Tamron has announced a 35-150mm F2-2.8 fast, flexible zoom for full-frame Sony E-mount bodies.

The Tamron 35-150mm F/2-2.8 Di III VXD is the world’s first mirrorless zoom lens with a maximum wide-open aperture of F2.

The lens uses the company’s VXD linear motor, which the company says will give fast, precise autofocus, including full compatibility with Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF and Eye AF systems.

Minimum focus distance ranges from 33cm (13″) at the wide end to 85cm (33.5″) at full tele, giving a maximum magnification ratio that ranges from 1:5.7 to 1:5.9.

Tamron USA, Inc. announces the launch date of the previously announced 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Model A063), a fast-aperture standard zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. The new lens will be on sale October 28, 2021, at $899 USD. Due to the current global health crisis, the release date or product supply schedule could change.
