New Micro Four Thirds Camera : Olympus PEN E-P7

OM Digital Solutions has announced the Olympus PEN E-P7 Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera.

The Olympus PEN E-P7 is a new mid-range Micro Four Thirds System camera that combines a class design with powerful photographic features such as Colour Profile Control, a 20 megapixel Live MOS sensor and in-body 5-axis image stabilisation.

It’s the first full-sized PEN model since the PEN-F, released in January 2016, but it appears to be more affordable and less prestige-focused than the E-Px models.

Price and Availability

The Olympus E-P7 will be available from mid-June 2021 in two colour combinations, white & silver or black & silver, as body only priced at £749 or as a kit with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ lens for £849.

The M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm F4 Pro will be available in July for $1099Pre-orders are available at BHphotoAdorama.

Full Olympus 8-25mm f/4 PRO Lens Specs, Price to be $1,099

OM Digital will announce the new E-P7 camera and the 8-25mm f/4.0 PRO lens. The official announcement is expected to happen on June 9 and the 8-25mm lens will be released on June 25. When  it comes to the price, the wide-angle zoom Micro Four Thirds lens will cost around $1099.99 (the LH-76E lens hood will be $34.99).

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO Lens Specifications

Here are the first set of specifications of the upcoming Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm f/4 PRO lens.

The wide-angle zoom lens will be officially announced along with the new Olympus PEN E-P7 camera on June 9, 2021. The US price of this lens will be $1099.99 (the LH-76E lens hood will be $34.99). Shipping is scheduled to start on June 25.

Why Micro Four Thirds Is The Future, Not Full Frame?

Micro Four Thirds was the best selling system format in Japan for 2020, yet some “photography YouTubers” claimed doom and gloom, saying Micro Four Thirds is dead, and full frame will be taking over.

Robin Wong pubished a video and says that he disagrees. He thinks Micro Four Thirds is the best balanced system format moving forward, being truly small and compact in size and delivering high quality images. Also, camera sales (regardless of brands and formats) have been drastically declining over the years.

More Olympus PEN-F II Talks and New Hints for Olympus Cameras

Nils Häussler from Olympus Germany has given some information about  their JIP plans. According to the talk, Olympus PEN-F Mark II camera is still being considered and besides that there will be new Olympus branded cameras in 2021.

He also said that being into a new smaller company will make it easier to focus on the camera market and to develop new products.

Olympus dropped the current Olympus PEN-F price by $100, now you can get the Olympus PEN-F for $899 at all US store like AmazonB&HAdorama.

Olympus ED 150-400mm f/4.5 Pro Lens Price to be Around $7.499,99

According to recent reports the upcoming Olympus ED 150-400mm f/4.5 Pro lens will be priced at around $7.499,99.

Designed for Micro Four Thirds system cameras the lens will provide a standard focal range of 300-800mm equiv. and with a built-in 1.25X teleconverter it becomes 375-1000mm equiv., at the cost of 2/3-stop of light. The lens will also be compatible with Olympus’ new MC-20 2X teleconverter.

Already in development, the new super telephoto zoom lens Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC 1.25x IS PRO will be released on January 2021.

First Pictures of Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV Camera

Here are the first pictures of Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV camera.

The cameras, which are expected to be announced by the end of 2020, are slowly emerging and Olympus E-M10 IV is one of them. When we look at the list of features, we can say that Olympus has added the 20MP sensor and 5-axis in-body stabilization to its new models by default.

Olympus will soon announce a new OM-D E-M10 Mark IV camera and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400mm f/5.0-6.3 IS lens from the latest roadmap.
