Atomos announces development of ProRes RAW support for Sony FX3

Atomos announces development of Apple ProRes RAW support on the Ninja V for Sony’s New FX3. With the Apple ProRes RAW support, Sony FX3 will be getting 4.3K/60p ProRes RAW external recording to Ninja V.

The FX3 is Sony’s latest offering in its newly formed Cinema Camera Line and borrows a lot of its features from the popular a7S III, remixing it into a body better suited for video-centric workflows.

According to Atomos, they will soon enable the Ninja V 5-inch monitor/recorder to record 12bit ProRes RAW up to 4.3K/60p from the Sony FX3.

Atomos previously announced the Alpha 1 will be receiving the same treatment. Here are the details.

Sony Notice to The Owners of FE 35mm f/1.4 GM Lens

As you remember, we have announced in previous articles that there will be a delay in the delivery of the Sony 35mm f/1.4 GM lens. A notice letter explaining the reason for this was submitted by Sony.

According to this, Sony Hong Kong notified that the early batch of lenses may have an issue with the ornament plate. Those lenses will now be repaired for free.

Rumors : Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM Lens Specifications

Sony 120MP Medium Format Sensor with Global Shutter

Sony released 120MP (127.68 Effective pixels) Medium Format Sensor with a global shutter. As you know Fuji GFX cameras uses a Sony medium format sensor.  So it’s a possibility that in near future, we might see Fuji GFX 120 or Fuji GFX 200.

Sony Announced a Medium Format 128MP Global Shutter Sensor

Sony announced a 128MP global shutter sensor. The sensor has a 56.73mm diagonal which is about the size of the sensor used by medium format cameras like the new GFX100.

The IMX661 sensor features Sony’s Pregius global shutter technology, which enables the ‘capture of motion distortion-free images.’ The sensor is expected to be ‘used in industrial equipment cameras for a wide variety of applications [to] help to solve a variety of complex challenges, thereby contributing to the development of industry.’
