In addition to its firmware updates for the Z6 II, Z7 II and Z9, Nikon also announced the release of its first CFexpress Type B memory card. The new Nikon MC-CF660G 660GB CFexpress Type B memory card is now available for pre-order. Check availability at Adorama and B&H Photo.

The MC-CF660G is a CFexpress (Type B)5 memory card with a large capacity of 660 GB. It realizes a maximum read speed of approximately 1700 MB/s and maximum write speed of approximately 1500 MB/s. It is particularly suited for video/still shooting with the Nikon Z 9 full-frame/FX-format mirrorless camera.

OM Digital Announces the Supply Shortage of OM SYSTEM OM-1

OM Digital Solutions announced the supply shortage of OM SYSTEM OM-1 camera. Production could not keep up with demand because of “more orders than expected” and “global semiconductor shortage”.

Nikon Z9 v2.0, Z6II v1.40 and Z7II v1.40 Firmware Updates Released

Nikon released new firmware updates for the Z9 flagship mirrorless camera as well as the Z6 II and Z7 II.

As promised for April 20th, Nikon released major firmware updates for the Nikon Z6II (v1.40), Nikon Z7II (v1.40), and Nikon Z9 (v2.0). Firmware v.2.0 for the Z9 brings high-performance updates while firmware v.1.4 for the Z6 II and Z7 II improves focusing for stills and video.

Nikon Unveils 800mm F6.3 VR S super telephoto lens for Z-mount

Nikon reveals its new 800mm F6.3 VR S super telephoto lens for Z-mount cameras. The US price of the NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR PF S Lens is $6500. B&HPhoto already published the product page for the NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S lens.

The new lens is constructed of 22 elements in 14 groups, including one PF element, three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements and one Short-Wavelength Refractive (SR) element. Ir features a nine-blade rounded aperture diaphragm, includes a fluorine coating on the front-most element and has a minimum focusing distance of five meters (14.5ft).

Samyang launches AF 35mm F1.4 FE II lens for Sony E-mount

Samyang, also known as Rokinon, has announced the AF 35mm F1.4 FE II, designed for use with Sony full-frame E-mount and Sony APS-C cameras.

The main two new features are the Focus Hold button which keeps the lens locked to a specific focus distance and the Custom Switch which can be used to allow silent adjustment of the aperture.

The Samyang AF 35mm F1.4 FE II joins the Samyang AF 50mm F1.4 FE II in the latest line-up of Samyang lenses that have had an update with the 50mm being announced in November 2021 and updating the original 50mm f/1.4 FE lens which launched over 5 years ago.

The Samyang AF 35mm F1.4 FE II price and release date weren’t revealed at the time of writing. (check for US pricing).
