Olympus Announces OM-D E-M1 Mark III With World’s Best IBIS System

Olympus introduced an update to the E-M1 line with the announcement of the OM-D E-M1 Mark III Mirrorless Camera.

The new micro four thirds camera takes a lot of the innovations that showed up in the company’s double-grip sports camera, the E-M1X, and fits them into a more compact and lightweight body. The new E-M1 Mark III comes with the world’s best image stabilisation system with 7.5 shutter speed steps of compensation.

More on the E-M1 Mark III features, the new model includes a 20.4 Megapixel Live MOS sensor, the world’s best image stabilization system with 7.5 shutter speed steps of compensation, 18fps maximum burst shooting with autofocus and DCI 4K/24p video capture.

New Fujinon XF 50mm f/1.0 R WR Lens Images

At the ‘X Summit’ in London, Fujifilm introduced several new and upcoming products. The Fujinon XF 50mm f/1.0 R WR lens were also on display and it confirmed that the fast prime optic would come this year.

Ricoh WG-70 Ultra-Rugged Compact Camera

Ricoh has announced the Ricog WG-70 ultra rugged compact camera.  It is a 16 Megapixel 1/2.3” backside-illuminated CMOS sensor with a maximum sensitivity of ISO 6400. In addition to stills, the camera captures 1080p (Full HD) video.

The new Ricoh WG-70 is waterproof to a depth of 46 feet, shockproof from heights up to five feet, crushproof against weighs up to 100 kilograms of force and freeze-proof at temperatures down to -10C.

Fujifilm X100V Camera Announced With New 23mm f/2.0 Lens

Fujifilm has announced the new Fujifilm X100V, the fifth version of their popular APS-C compact camera. The new version has the latest 26mp BSI CMOS sensor on the Fujifilm X-Pro3 and Fujifilm X-T3 interchangeable lens cameras, a newly developed 23mm f/2 lens, a tilting screen, improved hybrid viewfinder, and weather-resistance.

Other key improvements offered by the X100V include a new tilting rear touchscreen LCD monitor, updated Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder, the latest generation X-Processor 4, and 10-bit, 4:2:2 4K video up to 30fps and 1080p up to 120fps.

New Nikon D780 Trade-in Program Now Live in US

Nikon USA announced a new trade-in program where for a limited time you can get an additional $300 toward a Nikon D780 purchase in addition to the camera’s trade-in value. The new Nikon D780 Trade-in program launched and can be reached from the dedicated pages at Adorama and B&HPhoto.

The Nikon D780 is a replacement for one of the most well-rounded DSLRs ever made: the D750 (see comparison). The mid-range FX-format DSLR features a 24.5MP BSI-CMOS sensor – likely the same as in the Z6 – which features on-sensor phase detection. That means that in live view you’ll get dramatically improved autofocus compared to previous Nikon DSLRs, plus face and eye detection. When shooting through the viewfinder you’ll have a 51-point AF system backed with the higher-resolution metering sensor and algorithms from the D5. See official announcement.

Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Macro Lens Price, Specs, Availability

Laowa have released price, specs and availability information for the 65mm f/2.8 2x macro lens.

The Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2X Macro APO will be available for Canon EOS M, Fujj X and Sony E mirrorless camera systems. The price of this manual lens is $399. Laowa lenses are listed at B&H Photo and Adorama.

Venus Optics claims that this is the only APS-C mirrorless lens currently on the market capable of achieving a 2:1 magnification.

The 65mm f/2.8 is a compact macro lens available for Fuji X, Sony E and Canon M mount cameras. Venus Optics say they specially designed this lens for use with mirrorless cameras which use APS-C sensors.

New Fuji GF Lens Roadmap : GF 80mm f/1.7 R WR Lens and GF 30mm f/3.5 R WR Lens

Along with the launch of the standard zoom Fujifilm GF 45-100mm f/4 R LM OIS WR Lens, Fuji also announced the new GF lens roadmap.

Two new lenses have been added to Fujifilm’s medium-format lens roadmap: the Fujinon GF 80mm f/1.7 R WR Lens and GF 30mm f/3.5 R WR Lens.

The 30mm F3.5 provides a 24mm equivalent focal length and will slot in comfortably between the existing GF 23mm F4 and 45mm F2.8.

The 80mm F1.7 will provide a 63mm equiv. focal length and, at F1.34 equivalent, becomes the brightest lens that Fujifilm has developed for its GFX system. Fujifilm promises it will match the optical performance of its excellent 110mm F2. Both lenses are weather-sealed.

Fujifilm GF 45-100mm f/4 R LM OIS WR Lens Price $2,300

Fujifilm announced the launch of the standard zoom Fujifilm GF 45-100mm f/4 R LM OIS WR Lens in late February 2020. The US price for this lens is $2,299, now available for pre-order at B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon.

This weather-sealed zoom covers an equivalent range of 36-79mm and includes image stabilization rated at 5 stops.

Fujifilm XC 35mm F2 Prime Lens Announced

Alongside the X-T200, Fujifilm has announced the Fujinon XC 35mm F2 lens. The Fujifilm XC 35mm F2 lens gives an equivalent to 52mm on a 35mm format.

Weighing just 130g and measuring 46.5mm in length, this new prime lens has nine elements including two aspherical lens elements in six groups, producing sharp and crisp images. AF operation is quick and near silent thanks to the use of an internal focus system, which uses a stepping motor, making it drive the focus lens elements fast and accurately.

The lens produces creamy bokeh while offering excellent portability and high-speed AF.

Fujifilm X-T200 Camera Comes with 4K/30p and Costs $800

The Fujifilm X-T200 is an affordable mirrorless camera that uses the company’s X-mount. Boasting a wide range of improvements over its X-T100 predecessor, the X-T200 uses a 24MP Bayer sensor but uses copper rather than aluminum wiring, which provides 3.5x faster readout and had allowed Fujifilm to extend the high ISO by one stop, to 25600.

The X-T200 is lighter than the X-T100, weighing in at 370g / 0.8lb. The T200’s touchscreen is larger (3.5″ vs. 3″) and inherits a more touch-friendly menu from the X-A7.
