New Firmware Updates for Nikon Z6, Z7 and Z50

Nikon just released the new firmware updates for Nikon Z6, Z7 and Z50 mirrorless cameras.  Nikon Z6 and Z7 updated to the firmware version 3.12, while the Nikon Z50 firmware updated to version 2.02.

Nikon Z6 II & Z7 II Announced with Improved Processors and Second Card Slot

Nikon has updated its full-frame mirrorless Z series with Nikon Z6 II & Nikon Z7 II. Both will offer dual Expeed 6 processors to boost buffer performance and top continuous shooting speeds, and each camera gains a second UHS-II SD card slot to complement the existing CFexpress/XQD slot.

Nikon to Release CFexpress Type B cards to use with D5, D850 and D500 by the end of 2020

Nikon to release new CFExpress memory cards firmware updates for Nikon D5, D850 and D500 DSLR cameras by the end of 2020.

Back in February 2019, the company announced the development that D5, D850, and D500 DSLR cameras will get firmware updates for CFExpress memory card support.

The new firmware will provide support for CFexpress, a new standard for memory cards. Having passed durability tests in which they were inserted and removed from a camera 12,000 times, these memory cards offer users a greater sense of security. They also offer high-speed performance that will provide users with a more efficient workflow. After upgrading, users will be able to use both CFexpress as well as XQD cards in their camera interchangeably. Nikon Z9 Camera Specs Leaked, to be Announced in Fall 2021

Finally an exciting rumors for Nikon cameras. According to recent reports the previously rumored Nikon Z9 is coming ! The flagship Z9 camera is expected to be announced in fall of 2021.

More About Nikon Z6 II & Z7 II : Will They Save Nikon from Bankruptcy?

Here are more details about the upcoming Nikon Z6 II & Nikon Z7 II full frame mirrorless cameras.

Tony Northrup examines the upcoming 24-megapixel Nikon Z6 II and the 45-megapixel Nikon Z7 II to see how they will compare against the Canon EOS R5 ($3,899), Canon EOS R6 ($2,499), Sony a7R IV ($3,498), Sony a7 III ($1,998) and Panasonic S5 ($1,998).

Both cameras will use the same sensors as their respective predecessors but feature dual Expeed processors. The company will be adding several important new features and replacing the current Nikon Z7 and Z6.
