Sony a9 II Officially Announced with 24.2MP and 20fps, Price : $4500
Sony has officially announces the a9 II (Pre-order at B&H Photo Video), which adds a host of features for the working professional, along with a refined design largely borrowed from the a7R IV.
The sports-oriented a9 II uses the same full-frame 24MP sensor as its predecessor, though its faster Bionz X processor improves AF speed and precision, along with EVF display response. It retains the same 693-point on-sensor PDAF system as the a9, but with new algorithms that improve subject tracking. The camera can still shoot at 20 fps with no blackout using the electronic shutter, and the burst speed using the mechanical shutter has risen to 10 fps. There’s also a new anti-flicker system when using the mechanical shutter, making it much more usable under artificial light.
The Sony A9 II will ship in the US and Europe in October 2019, priced at approximately $4500 / €5400 respectively. Press text can be found here. Product page at Sony UK. Image samples at SonyUK.

Sony Unveils the 47MP MFT Sensor that Can Shoot 8K/30p Video
Sony unveiled the details of a new 47MP MFT sensor that can shoot 8K video at 30fps.
Sony’s new IMX492 is a diagonal 23.1mm CMOS image sensor with a colour square pixel array. The multi-aspect sensor will capture 41-megapixel resolution in 4:3 mode or 35 megapixels in 17:9. The new Sony sensor records 8K video in 30p in 17:9 mode, and in 4:3 mode this drops to 25p.
The Sony IMX492 also offers 2.315μm pixel size for both the Bayer and Monochrome sensor version. No further details were provided as to availability and when we may start seeing it in cameras.
This kind of resolution for a MFT sensor is definitely huge and probably for high-end video-centric Micro Four Thirds system cameras. The new image sensor (model name IMX492LQJ) might actually show up in the successor to the Panasonic GH5S which could be named as Panasonic GH6 or the Olympus E-M1 III. Best Memory Cards for FujiFilm X-A7
Looking for the best memory cards for FujiFilm X-A7 ? Here we picked out the top recommended & fastest SD cards for the FujiFilm X-A7 mirrorless camera.
The FujiFilm X-A7 mirrorless camera has a single SD card slot that supports UHS-I SD cards. That means there are no benefits to get a UHS-II card, unless you really need fast read speeds (which enables you to transfer files to your computer quicker).
Featuring a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor, the FujiFilm X-A7 (Adorama, B&H and Amazon) is capable of recording UHD 4K video at 30 fps and FHD video at 60 fps, as well as full-resolution continuous stills shooting at up to 6 fps. Simply put, the Fujifilm X-A7 features an all-new 24MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor with the same color reproduction, famous film simulations, quality, and abilities as the sensors riding in their top-tier X-system cameras like the X-T3 and X-Pro2, and it is a sleek mirrorless camera capable of apt stills and video recording.
As we’ve said above, the FujiFilm X-A7 has only one card slot that is limited to UHS-I speeds. So for the users of X-A7, we highly recommend getting a fast and reliable UHS-I SD card like the SanDisk Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC Card 170 MB/s (V30, U3). But if you have some other cameras that support the UHS-II cards, buying an UHS-II card would maximize your advantages and could be a better choice.
Below are our top recommended & fastest SD cards for FujiFilm X-A7 mirrorless camera based on the speed and price. Continue reading “Best Memory Cards for FujiFilm X-A7”
