Panasonic S 85mm f/1.8 Lens Announced

Panasonic unveiled a new large-aperture medium-telephoto fixed focal length lens. enhances portrait photography with its beautiful bokeh effect.

Based on the L-Mount system for the LUMIX S Series full-frame mirrorless camera, Panasonic is going to release four F1.8 large-aperture lenses as previously announced, and this 85mm F1.8 is the first one. These four F1.8 lenses feature common size and position of control parts to provide practical advantage in use, for example, when the camera is on a gimbal, it is easy to exchange lenses quickly with minimum adjustment of connected gears. Filters can also be used in common thanks to the same diameter. Boasting high mobility realized by its compact size and light weight, the LUMIX S 85mm F1.8 is also suitable for stills.

Panasonic Lumix BGH1 Cinema 4K Box Camera Announced

Panasonic has announced a new box-style video camera, the Lumix DC-BGH1. Based on the Micro Four Thirds System, the new Lumix BGH1 offers access to an extensive lens lineup and combines technology from professional cinema cameras, camcorders and the Lumix GH series.

The developer claims, the lens has been redesigned from the ground up: a new mechanical design based on the Trioplan 100mm f2.8 II now offers photographers excellent controllability with a 50mm focal length.

Trioplan 50mm is manufactured for the most common modern camera mounts Canon EF, Nikon F, Fuji X, Sony E, Pentax K, M42, Micro Four Thirds, Leica M, and Leica L. Additionally, the 50 mm lens also features a movable front element, independent of the focusing action, which increases the maximum magnification to 1:4 for working with nearby subjects as close as 9.8″ away.
