Canon RF Lens Roadmap 2020

Here is the latest Canon RF mount lens roadmap for 2020 and 2021 that has been shown to selected photographers. Canon’s plan is to release between 6 to 8 new RF mount lenses in 2020.

Canon has already announced f/2.8 zoom lenses, so it is time for the company to release some cheap and light f/4 zoom lenses. Canon will also release at least one “crazy look-what-we-can-do” lens (like RF 50mm f/1.2 L USM) in 2020. Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM Lens to be Announced in May, 2019

The Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens is rumored to be announced in May 2019. This will be the non-DS version of the two rumored 85mm mirrorless lenses.

The lens is already in development, as Canon rumored to announce two more mirrorless lenses in RF-series by the end of 2019 to early 2020.

EOS R is the first camera to feature the RF lens mount with a 12-pin connection, flange back distance of 20mm and a wide 54mm mount diameter enabling even greater flexibility in lens design.

According to recent reports Canon is developing a new 63MP full frame CMOS sensor with dual pixel AF. The code name for this Canon 63MP full frame sensor is “35MM63MXSCD“.

We already know that the company is working on a new high megapixel full frame EOS R body ($2,299 at Amazon, B&H, Adorama) . Here are the latest Canon lens patents discovered online. The patent applications are for RF 70-200mm f/4L, RF 28mm f/1.8, RF 50mm f/1.8 lenses.

Designed for Canon full frame mirrorless camerasystem, the two non-L lenses are the affordable candidates for the consumer market. There is also Canon RF 70-200mm f/4L lens.

ZY Optics releases Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 mark III Lens

ZY Optics releases Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 mark III lens. It has been designed for Sony FE, Canon RF & Nikon Z cameras.

This full frame optic has a natural 50mm focal length and ultra-fast f/0.95 maximum aperture making it ideal for low light situations.

The aperture control enables you full creative control over the amount of background blur and with such a large maximum aperture you should get a good Bokeh effect.

Compared to the previous version this new lens is slightly more compact and offers better flare resistance than the previous generation.
