Patent : Tamron 485mm f/5.8 Lens for Micro Four Thirds

Tamron has filed a new patent in Japan. This patent describes a Tamron 485mm f/5.8 lens for mirrorless cameras with Micro Four Thirds image sensors.

If we see this in mass production than it would be Tamron’s second optic for Micro 4/3rds. First one released back in mid-2014 as the Tamron 14-150mm F/3.5-5.8 Di III ($399). Tamron 480mm f/5.8 Lens for Micro Four Thirds will offer a 960mm equivalent range in 35mm format and probably use a stepper motor for silent autofocus.  Continue reading “Patent : Tamron 485mm f/5.8 Lens for Micro Four Thirds”

Sony is rumored to be working on a new high-resolution 34MP image sensor for Micro Four Thirds system cameras.

This is also the perfect sensor resolution for 8K video recordings. So this could be another sensor for a possible video-centric Micro Four Thirds device.

We see 8k resolution usually as 7680×4320 in 16:9 aspect ratio.
This makes the sensor to be around 33.18MP to offer these values.  Continue reading “Sony Working on 34MP Micro Four Thirds Sensor”
