Rumor Update : New 8K Nikon Camera Coming in Spring with 46MP

So you probably asking what will be the impact of the new $6,500 Sony a1 camera on Nikon?  According to the recent reports, 8K Nikon camera will arrive this Spring/Summer, with advanced core specifications to compete against the Sony a1 and the possible Canon EOS R1. By the way the name of this Nikon flagship camera could be called Nikon Z1 and not the previously rumored Z9.

More information on 8K Nikon camera continues to come. Accordingly, it is among the leaked rumors that the mirrorless camera, which is expected to be positioned at a high level, will have a 46MP sensor. It is expected to have a new EXPEED processor that can shoot up to 20fps at full speed and can shoot 8K / 30p video. The camera will also feature advanced subject-detection AF, high-resolution non-dimming EVF, dual XQD / CFExpress card slots, Gigabit LAN, and the “new user interface”, but there are no other details shared at this point.

The body of the Nikon Z1 will look like a camera comprised of a Nikon D6-style body (possibly with a built-in handle), Canon EOS R5-level imaging capabilities, and Sony a9II-level autofocus. This will make it a direct competitor to the Sony Alpha A1. Continue reading “Rumor Update : New 8K Nikon Camera Coming in Spring with 46MP”

Nikon Z TC-1.4x & TC-2x Teleconverters now in Stock

Nikon introduced two new teleconverters with its professional Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon) telephoto zoom: The Z TC-1.4x and TC-2.0x teleconverters are designed for Nikon’s Z-series mirrorless cameras and corrected for full-frame sensors. The Nikon Z TC-1.4x & TC-2x teleconverters are now in stock and shipping at major US stores.

Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-1.4x: $546.95 at AmazonB&HAdorama.

Nikon Z Teleconverter TC-2x: $596.95 at AmazonB&HAdorama.

Teleconverters are mounted between the lens and the camera body and magnify the image by 1.4x or 2.0x thus effectively increasing the focal length of each lens by the same amount. Unfortunately lenses have to be designed to work with teleconverters and currently the Nikon Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S is the only lens which can be used with Nikon’s new TC-1.4x and TC-2.0x. But Nikon will certainly add more lenses to their Z line-up in the future which can use teleconverters.

Skylum launched the new Luminar 4 with AI Sky enhancer tool. For a limited time you get this package with a $10 discount using coupon code “CAMERANEWS” and extra Bonuses.
