Panasonic announced the LUMIX S5 full-frame mirrorless camera. The Panasonic S5 will join the current S1, S1R and S1H models. Panasonic S5 will be unveiled on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 14:00 UTC.

In addition, the Panasonic Lumix S5 mirrorless camera is already listed at B&H, and preorder will start at 10am ET, September 2. Panasonic Lumix S1H Firmware Update with RAW Video Output

Panasonic released the RAW Video Data Output over HDMI firmware update program (firmware version 2.1) for its LUMIX S1H camera after delaying its release back in May.

The new firmware for the Panasonic full-frame mirrorless camera enables the output of maximum 5.9K/29.97p and 59.94p 4K RAW video data over HDMI to the Atomos Ninja V HDR monitor-recorder and saves it as Apple ProRes RAW. In addition, it further complies with 3.5K Anamorphic 4:3 standard.

New Firmware Updates for Panasonic GH5, GH5S, G9, G95, G85 and GX9

Panasonic announced a minor firmware updates for GH5, GH5S, G9G95, G85, GX9 mirrorless cameras and the upcoming release of software programs “LUMIX Streaming (Beta)” for Mac and the development of “LUMIX Webcam Software” for Win/Mac.

The firmware update programs are aimed to improve compatibility with the new Tripod Grip DMW-SHGR1 and operational stability with LUMIX G VARIO 12-32mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH. /MEGA O.I.S.(H-FS12032) lens. Meanwhile, “LUMIX Streaming (Beta)” and “LUMIX Webcam Software” enhance work-at-home activities using LUMIX cameras.

Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 Full-Frame Mirrorless Lens

Panasonic has announced a new interchangeable standard zoom lens, the Lumix S 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 (S-R2060), based on the L-Mount system for its Lumix S Series full-frame mirrorless cameras.

The new Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm lens will be available to purchase from July 2020 for $599. The Panasonic L-mount lenses are available for pre-order at B&HAdorama.

Panasonic says the lens has been designed to suppress focus breathing (the change of effective focal length at different focus distances) for video shooters, who are likely to appreciate its wide-angle capabilities.

Panasonic Lumix S1H Firmware Update 2.0 Released, RAW video output delayed

Panasonic has released firmware version 2.0 for the Lumix S1H; however, the much-anticipated option to record 5.9K ProRes Raw video to an Atomos Ninja V has been delayed.

It was supposed to be included with a firmware update that was released yesterday for the S1H, firmware version 2.0. Panasonic released all the details of the firmware update back in April.

Panasonic says the delay is down to a technical issue which the company hasn’t been able to resolve in time for the release. Panasonic says the Raw video data output function will be provided separately in the next firmware release.

Panasonic Released Firmware Update V1.5 for Lumix S1, S1R Cameras

Panasonic releases minor firmware update for its Lumix S1S1R full frame mirrorless cameras. Firmware update version 1.5  adds new frame rate options for its NTSC region models.

Firmware version 1.5 adds support for ProGrade Digital CFexpress Type B cards as well as a new 50p/25p video frame rate option for NTSC region cameras. Panasonic has also disabled the ‘Delete All’ touch control option in playback mode to minimize the possibility of accidentally deleting all of your media.

Firmware version 1.5 for the S1 and S1R is available to download on Panasonic’s support page.
