It seems that Sigma will continue to announce the DG DN series lenses designed exclusively for mirrorless cameras. Recent rumors indicates that the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens will be announced soon.

As part of the Art line within Sigma’s Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve truly notable optical performance and is ideally suited for creative and artistic applications. The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens is suitable for APS-C models where it provides a 53mm equivalent focal length. Constant f/1.4 maximum aperture is particularly well-suited for working in available light conditions and provides extreme control over depth of field.

TTArtisan 21mm f/1.5 lens for Nikon Z, Sony E, Canon R and Leica L

The TTArtisan 21mm f/1.5 lens is now available for Nikon Z, Sony E, Canon R, and Leica L mounts.

Fast and wide, the 21mm f/1.5 from TTArtisan is an ultra-wide prime designed for mirrorless cameras. The broad field of view is complemented by the bright f/1.5 maximum aperture, which excels in low-light conditions as well as for isolating subjects using selective focus techniques. The lens’s manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 2.3′ away and it features a 10-blade diaphragm that contributes to a smooth bokeh quality. Additionally, a lens hood is included that protects the front of the lens as well as reduces stray light from causing flare.

Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 FE Astrophotography Lens for Sony E-mount

The new Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 FE for Sony full-frame E-mount cameras. The wide-angle prime lens has been specially optimized for astrophotography.

Weighing only 230g and measuring just 71mm in length, the Samyang 24mm F1.8 lens features a new function called “Custom Mode” which automatically move the focus directly to infinity, complete with an LED indicator.

The Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 FE Lens for Sony is priced at £459.99 in the UK and will be available from early May. Preorders should be online soon at BHphoto.

Sony a7R IIIA and a7R IVA Officially Announced

Sony quietly announced two small updated version of their current a7R III and a7R IV cameras: Sony a7R IIIA (LCE-7RM3A) and Sony a7R IVA (ILCE-7RM4A).

Both new models include several upgrades from the a7R III and a7R IV cameras. Pre-orders should be open soon at Adorama and B&H.

Here are the changes on the Sony a7R IIIA and a7R IVA cameras

  • LCD screen resolution changed from 1.44 million dots to 2,359,296 dots
  • Both cameras are now compatible with USB 3.2 (SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps)
  • No Sony logo under the LCD screen (see above picture)
  • The battery life has also been updated

First Impressions : Sony FE 50mm F2.5 G, 40mm F2.5 G, and 24mm F2 .8 G Lenses

Sony lately expanded its series of G lenses for full-frame cameras. In this post we will cover first impressions of the , , . These lenses are aimed at both still photographers and video shooters.

Designed for Sony Full Frame E-mount system, all three lenses weigh around 170 g, which is indeed quite light. They accept 49 mm front filters. They are also resistant to dust and moisture to a certain extent. The three lenses are all the same size (2.68″ diameter x 1.77″).

Price and availability

The FE 50mm f/2.5 G, FE 40mm f/2.5 G, and FE 24mm f/2.8 G Lenses will be available in mid-to-late May for $599 each.
