Leica M11 Monochrom and Leica Summilux-M 50mm F1.4 ASPH Lens Announced

Leica announces M11 Monochrom, a 60-megapixel camera built for black and white photography.

The M11 Monochrom is a digital rangefinder sporting a 60-megapixel full-frame backside-illuminated monochromatic image sensor. This is the same resolution as the standard color Leica M11 camera, and the M11 Monochrom also features the same multi-resolution functionality, allowing users to swap between 18, 36, and 60-megapixel resolution, complete with varying crop factors (sort of like swapping between different prime lenses).

The Canon EOS R5 C is now Netflix approved

Canon has announced its EOS R5 C mirrorless camera is now approved for Netflix productions, joining a long list of other Canon EOS cameras approved by the popular streaming service.

The Canon EOS R5 C joins the EOS C500 Mark II, EOS C300 Mark III, EOS C70, EOS C300 Mark II, EOS C700 FF, EOS C700, and EOS C500 cameras on Netflix’s approved camera list. Since Netflix is one of the largest providers of original video content, the ability to submit your project for the company’s consideration is key.

With the EOS R5 C Firmware Version 1.0.3.1 update, the full-frame, mirrorless R5 C gains improved Canon Log 3 image quality when shooting in XF-AVC or MP4 formats. This latest update also improves the overall image quality and camera operability.

Ricoh announces RICOH GR III Diary Edition

Ricoh announces standalone version of its GR III Diary Edition premium compact camera. The new standalone version includes just the camera, with a retail price of $1,019.95. In the US the new “Diary” edition will be available in late April – check AdoramaAmazon, and B&H.

The GR III features a 24-megapixel APS-C image sensor and 28mm f/2.8 equivalent lens. The Diary Edition added a new negative film image control mode, new display features, and usability improvements.
