Nikon Z7 Achieves an Overall DxOMark Sensor Score of 99 Points

In addition to the Nikon Z6 sensor review, DxOMark also published the Nikon Z7 sensor review and test results.

According to this, the 45.7MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor on the Z7 achieved an impressive score of 99 (just 1 point behind the Nikon D850 and Sony a7R III), with a combination of 26.3 bits color depth, 14.6 EV dynamic range, and 2668 ISO low-light score.

2019 Camera Predictions: Sony a7000, Nikon D760, Canon 7D Mark III

The Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 FE will be available Spring 2019. Pricing to be determined later.

We can have a look at the Canon EF version of this Samyang lens as it is is priced at $579 at Amazon.  Sure Sony user will wait and see if the real world images provide the same quality as the Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM lens ($1,798). Sony a9 Firmware Update Version 5.0 Coming on March 25th

Sony major firmware update for the Alpha A9 will arrive on March 25th.  This will be the Sony a9 Firmware Update Version 5.0.

This upgrade will add a range of features, including improved tracking in both stills and video, as well as extending Eye AF to animals, something Sony showed at Photokina back in September. The a7R III and a7 III will also gain the improved Eye-AF and animal Eye AF, as well as time-lapse capabilities.

Zenitar 50mm f/0.95 Lens Officially Announced for Sony FE-mount

 officially announced for Sony E-mount cameras with full frame image sensor. The fast prime lens will start shipping from March 20th and the USD price stands around $770.

This is the first lens of the line, equipped with an E attachment for mirrorless cameras, as well as a unique bokeh pattern. Ultra-high aperture speed of F / 0.95 provides low-light shooting. Distinctive design detail has become a perfectly round diaphragm, provided with fourteen petals.

The lens is constructed of nine elements in eight groups and constructed entirely of glass and metal. Considering the metal construction and massive optical elements, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the lens weighs quite a bit for its focal length, 1.1kg / 2.43lbs.
