Canon EOS 90D & EOS-1D X Mark III to Feature IBIS ?

Canon EOS 90D and Canon EOS-1D X Mark III digital SLR cameras are rumored to feature IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization).

The latest rumor suggests Canon will “definitely” bring IBIS to “select” DSLR cameras in the near future. Although currently we are not sure which camera(s) would be getting IBIS, but the Canon EOS 90D, which will be announced in the next several months, would be a good bet, especially the Canon EOS 90D will most likely replace both the EOS 80D and the EOS 7D Mark II. What to expect from Canon ? Here are the latest updates for the upcoming Canon DSLR and mrrorless cameras as well as new lenses. In this July 2019 edition of “What to expect from Canon” , you’ll get the latest news and rumors in one place.

The company will unveil the previously rumored cameras and lenses on July 9th. These are the PowerShot G5 X Mark II, PowerShot G7 X Mark III, and RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM lens.

Canon RF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens Coming in 2020

Canon is rumored to be working on a RF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM lens. The super telephoto prime lens will be designed for Canon full frame mirrorless cameras.

According to the source, this RF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM lens will come with a “new and unique” feature for super telephoto lenses. Jared Polin (aka FroKnowsPhoto) posted a 50 minutes video-user-guide on the new Canon Rebel SL3/EOS 250D/EOS 200D Mark II/KIss X10.

Canon EOS Rebel SL3  is officially the lightest DSLR from Canon, at 15.8 ounces, and looks just about identical to the SL2 it replaces.

Canon announces new ultra-high-res 120MP, ultra-high-sensitive 2.7MP CMOS sensors

Canon has announced a new 120-megapixel ultra-high resolution CMOS sensor along with a 2.7-megapixel ultra-high sensitivity CMOS sensor.

The new ultra-high resolution 120MXSI and ultra-high sensitivity 35MMFHDXSMA sensors have been designed for industrial use and, at least as of now, won’t be used in Canon’s consumer cameras. But this technology has a habit of trickling down over time.

Patents : Canon RF 400mm f/2.8L, RF 500mm f/4L, RF 600mm f/4L IS USM Lenses

Canon has filed new patents in Japan. These applications are for three super telephoto prime lenses named as RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens, RF 500mm f/4L IS USM Lens, and RF 600mm f/4L IS USM Lens.

We already know that the first super telephoto prime glass in RF-series lens lineup will be the RF 500mm f/4L. In the past, Canon tends to announce super telephoto prime lenses in pairs, so it is a possibility to expect another one like RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens. Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II to be Announced Soon

It is now confirmed that the Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II camera will be officially announced in the next 30 days, to replace the current PowerShot G5 X model.

As you might remember, the Japan-based company officially unveiled the PowerShot G1 X Mark III camera ($1,299 at Amazon, B&H, Adorama). Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens Tested at DxOMark

Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens tested at DxOMark website. According to test results the RF 50mm f/1.2L USM lens achieved an overall score of 38 points. 

The lens tested on the Canon EOS R, the company’s 30.3Mp full-frame mirrorless camera, and it compares well with Canon’s previous 50mm f/1.2 lens.

This score puts the Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L among the top five 50mm lenses in DxOMark’s rating. However, it’s clearly below the score of lenses that costs much less, e.g. the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSMand the Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/1.4. Continue reading “Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens Tested at DxOMark”
