Development announcement of SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS|Sports

Sigma has announced the development of the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS Sports lens for E mount and L-mount mirrorless cameras.

Specs released by Sigma France show it will have 20 elements in 15 groups, including six fluorite-like FLD elements, two super-low dispersion elements and three aspherical lenses. It will have a 77mm filter diameter and will weigh 1345g (47.4 oz) in L-mount form and 10g (0.7 oz) less in E-mount.

Pricing has not yet been announced but the company says it will be available from December this year. This is going to be an affordable alternative to the current super expensive (and excellent performance) Sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS II Lens.
