Leica APO-Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH Lens Announced

Leica has announced the release of the APO-Summicron-M 35mm F2 ASPH. The compact 35mm F2 is the closest-focusing M-mount lens, with a minimum focus distance of just 30cm (11.8″).  The US price of the lens is $8,195 and it is now available for pre-order at B&H.

The lens has a close focusing distance of 30cm, and has been designed to give maximum image performance, with 10 elements, in 5 groups, with 3 aspherical elements, and 6 of the elemtns are designed to reduce chromatic and apochromatic aberrations. The lens has 11 aperture blades for an almost circular aperture circle, and the lens has been designed to give exceptional image quality even when used wide-open.

Nikon Releases NX Studio Software That Combines ViewNX-i and Capture NX-D

Nikon has announced the release of NX Studio image. The video editing/viewing software combines the best bits of Nikon’s View NX-i and Capture NX-D software applications in a single piece of software.

The newly released Nikon NX Studio is essentially a replacement for both applications, offering almost every feature of the pair in a single program. Capture NX-D and ViewNX-i will remain available for download, but are unlikely to be updated to add support for new cameras or compatibility with future operating system updates.

Nikon digital camera users can download the software, free of charge, from today and those who currently use View NX-i and Capture NX-D are advised to switch to NX Studio as View NX-i and Capture NX-D will no longer be updated so they’re compatible with the latest OS and new functions won’t be added either. Sony a1 vs Canon EOS R5 Video Features Comparison

A new Sony a1 vs Canon EOS R5 comparison video has been released. This time around, we can see which of the two top full-frame mirrorless cameras stand out depending on the video capabilities and usage.

Laowa Unveils Argus line of f/0.95 Prime Lenses

Venus Optics has released the Argus line of f/0.95 prime lenses. There are five new manual Laowa lenses, including three for full-frame camera systems, one for APS-C camera systems and one for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) camera systems.

Laowa has unveiled f/0.95 prime lenses that comprise its new Argus line – three for full frame, and one each for APS-C and Micro Four Thirds cameras. Venus Optics lenses are sold at Adorama and B&H.

Nikon Z Mount Patents: Z 16-34mm f/2.8, Z 18-50mm f/2.8-4 & Z 16-50mm f/4 Lenses

Nikon has filed three new patents for Z mount mirrorless cameras. The application describes NIKKOR Z 16-34mm f/2.8 Lens, NIKKOR Z 18-50mm f/2.8-4 Lens and NIKKOR Z 16-50mm f/4 Lens.

We can say that all Z-mount lenses are designed for Nikon full frame mirrorless camera system. As you remember, in a CP + 2021 event interview, Nikon manager stated that the company is considering to release many new cameras and lenses in 2021.
