Rumor Update : New 8K Nikon Camera Coming in Spring with 46MP
So you probably asking what will be the impact of the new $6,500 Sony a1 camera on Nikon? According to the recent reports, 8K Nikon camera will arrive this Spring/Summer, with advanced core specifications to compete against the Sony a1 and the possible Canon EOS R1. By the way the name of this Nikon flagship camera could be called Nikon Z1 and not the previously rumored Z9.
More information on 8K Nikon camera continues to come. Accordingly, it is among the leaked rumors that the mirrorless camera, which is expected to be positioned at a high level, will have a 46MP sensor. It is expected to have a new EXPEED processor that can shoot up to 20fps at full speed and can shoot 8K / 30p video. The camera will also feature advanced subject-detection AF, high-resolution non-dimming EVF, dual XQD / CFExpress card slots, Gigabit LAN, and the “new user interface”, but there are no other details shared at this point.
The body of the Nikon Z1 will look like a camera comprised of a Nikon D6-style body (possibly with a built-in handle), Canon EOS R5-level imaging capabilities, and Sony a9II-level autofocus. New Sony RX Camera Rumored with the World’s First Full Frame Curved Sensor
Sony is rumored to announce a New RX Camera with the World’s First Full Frame Curved Sensor on January 26. This Sony RX Camera will feature a lens that is faster than the Sony RX1R II (which has a Zeiss 35mm f/2.0 lens).
As you might remember that several days ago Sony Japan posted a teaser for a new product announcement with the motto “The one never seen”. In addition to the new Sony RX camera, Sony is also expected to unveil the highly anticipated 8K full frame mirrorless camera (Sony a9 III) on January 26, 2021. Ricoh posted a new product story about the exposure control function of the upcoming Pentax K-3 Mark III camera.

Canon PowerShot Pick to be Announced Soon
Canon will soon announce a new AI-powered PowerShot camera, and now it seems that this new camera will be called the “Canon PowerShot Pick“.
DC Watch reported that the pre-sale of the new concept camera “Canon PowerShot PICK” will begin via the Japanese crowdfunding site Makuake on January 29, 2021. Specification and price informations are scheduled to be released on January 29th. This is Canon’s third concept camera, following the carabiner-style “iNSPIiC REC” and the telescope-type camera “PowerShot ZOOM”.
- The PowerShot PICK is a new concept camera that realizes a new way to enjoy photography and video shooting with the optical technology and video processing technology that Canon has cultivated.
- PowerShot PICK itself automatically finds a person’s face, notices changes in the image reflected on the lens, and automatically determines “now is the photo opportunity” and shoots.

Sony Teases a Major Alpha Mirrorless Announcement on January 26th, A9 III?
Sony posted a new teaser on its Instagram account that they are getting ready to announce the first 8K mirrorless camera on January 26, 2021. Most people seem to be expecting an Alpha a9 III flagship mirrorless camera. This is what we have previously covered several times in our Sony Camera Rumors.
The new camera will shoot 8K30p, have a 50mp full-frame sensor and will be priced around $6000USD. It is expected to be named as an A9x series camera and not A7x. Could be either an A9 III or A9R. Anyway here are the rumored Sony A9III specs:

Canon EOS-R1 Rumored to Feature Global Shutter with Quad-Pixel AF
Canon EOS R1 is rumored to be in development and the rumor mill claims that it will be the new flagship RF mount mirrorless camera. Latest reports indicates that this mirrorless version of the EOS-1D X Mark III, the Canon EOS R1 will feature Global Shutter with Quad-Pixel AF.
Dual Pixel AF technology would improve autofocus accuracy no matter what orientation the subject or the camera is in, while a global shutter sensor would effectively remove rolling shutter when shooting video or stills in the electronic shutter mode.
