Sony A7S III Announcement Rumored for October 2019

Next Sony full frame E-mount camera would be the Sony A7S III as the third version of this low-light king rumored  before October 2019.

According to recent reports, we can see the Sony A7S III announcement before October. So expect a product announcement in late Summer.

To combine previous reports from the rumor mill, we can cleary expect a new sensor, maybe with global shutter  and 4k @ 60p video shooting speed.

A member of the Chinese social network Weibo, that has gotten many previous leaks right, recently reported that a new Sony a7s III announcement is rumored for lare Summer:

“[Sony A7S III will be released before October this year] Just got the latest news (higher credibility), the long-awaited Sony A7S III is expected to be released this summer (before October), the camera will use a new sensor, It is said that this sensor will “change the rules of the game”, there is speculation may be with the global shutter?”

So what can we expect to see from a Alpha A7S III?  The good thing is that the Sony A7S III will have features that far beyond than we expected.

Rumored Sony A7S III Specs

  • New sensor : We could see a 36MP sensor capable of shooting 8K
  • DCI 4K capture at 60p
  • 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording
  • No 30min restriction
  • 10fps burst mode
  • Improved AF with eye-tracking
  • Dual card slots
  • Better battery life
  • Same design as A7R III and A7 III
  • Addition of a multi-selector joystick
  • Predicted prices expected to be around $2,999

The company can also use this sensor on the Sony A9 II and choose the 24MP BSI sensor (not stacked) from the Sony A7 III. As always take it with a grain of salt and stay tuned with us for more information.
