Canon has filed a new patent of a very fast constant aperture with 50-80mm focal range. The patent application is for Canon RF 50-80mm f/1.1 Lens that is designed for company’s full frame mirrorless cameras.

Canon has filed new patents in Japan. These applications are for three super telephoto prime lenses named as RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens, RF 500mm f/4L IS USM Lens, and RF 600mm f/4L IS USM Lens.
We already know that the first super telephoto prime glass in RF-series lens lineup will be the RF 500mm f/4L. Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens tested at DxOMark website. According to test results the RF 50mm f/1.2L USM lens achieved an overall score of 38 points.
The lens tested on the Canon EOS R, the company’s 30.3Mp full-frame mirrorless camera, and it compares well with Canon’s previous 50mm f/1.2 lens.
