The Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 is a new cine lens offering an extremely short focal length, rectilinear image projection and a large image circle of 43.3mm.
The Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 will be offered in the following lens mounts: Canon EF, Sony E, MFT and Arri PL. The price and availability will be announced shortly.
The lens uses a new opticl formula, developed especially for Irix Cinematic lenses. It consists of 16 optical elements, of which four are made with high refractive index (HR) glass, three others have aspherical surfaces and the last two are made with low-dispersion glass (ED). The use of a large front lens and other special glass elements provides crisp cinematic shots in a resolution up to 8K while keeping the focus “breathing” effect at the lowest level. The lens offers a large maximum T number of 4.3 which can be reduced to T22, thanks to the rounded shape of the iris blades.
There’s a new Multi Start Thread focusing mechanism, allowing quiet and precise focusing. The lens is weather-sealed and the geared focusing ring rotates 180 degrees.
The lens has an extremely compact design and weighs 1.1kg. It features a Magnetic Mount System for accessories, such as the lens hood. Further accessories are planned for the future.
The Irix 11mm T4.3 has a magnesium build reinforced by numerous rubber seals.
