Next Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6 Firmware to Bring 1080p/120fps Video

As you might think that the last Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6 firmware update was not the one we were expecting. It was a minor upgrade on these cameras and 1080p video at 120fps is on the horizon for the next firmware update.

The next firmware for the Canon EOS R5 is still on schedule for November.  While there is no info about upcoming firmware for Canon EOS R6 yet, new features that are expected for Canon EOS R5 are as follows.

Tokina atx-i 17-35mm f/4 FF Lens Announced, Price $599

Tokina atx-i 17-35mm f/4 FF Lens is now officially announced. The US price is $599 and it will be released on December 11, 2020.

Nikon Updated Z Lens Roadmap

Nikon has released an updated version of their Z lens roadmap with silhouettes of upcoming Nikkor lenses, including two super-telephoto lenses and one macro prime lens.

There are eleven lens silhouettes and three of them are new: the ‘Micro 50mm,’ the 400mm S-Line and the 600mm S-line. Below is another roadmap from Nikon that shows the focal length coverage of current and future lenses .

Canon Released New FW Updates for Five cameras and RF 50mm F1.2 lens

Canon has released a  new firmware updates for EOS R-series mirrorless cameras and a single RF lens, bringing new and improved features, as well as the usual bug fixes.

The new firmware update for EOS R cameras include the  Canon EOS REOS RP and EOS Ra as well as the new EOS R5 and EOS R6.

New Firmware Update V2.0 for Olympus E-M1X Adds Bird AF

Along with the new M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC 1.25x IS PRO lens, Olympus also released the new firmware update version 2.0 for Olympus OM-D E-M1X (AmazonB&HAdorama) mirrorless camera. Sony FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Camera Announced

Sony announces the new FX6 full-frame cinema camera with 10-bit 4:2:2 4K/120p internal recording. Along with the Sony FX6 cinema camera, the company also unveiled the FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G E-Mount Lens.

Sony FX6 captures 10-bit 4:2:2 full-frame footage at 120 frames per second (fps) at 4K and 240 fps in 1080. If you use the onboard 12G-SDI port, the FX6 can output 16-bit SDI Raw 4K/60p video. Sony has also added its S-Cinetone look profile, which is inspired by its Venice colorimetry and also found in the company’s FX9 cinema camera.

The FX6 uses Sony’s E-mount for attaching lenses, making it compatible with more than 50 native lenses and countless dozens third-party lenses. The FX6 features the same 627-point Fast Hybrid AF system found in the FX9 and Sony’s Alpha mirrorless cameras, including advanced Face Detection and Real-time Eye AF.

Sony FX6 full-frame cinema camera  will be available for $6,000 in December. It will also be available as a kit with Sony’s FE 24–105mm F4 G E-mount lens for $7,200. Sony is also releasing a new FE C 16–35mm T3.1 G lens in December that will retail for $5,500.

Nikon Z6 II Firmware Update Version 1.01 Released

Nikon released a new firmware update version 1.01 for the Nikon Z6 II full frame mirrorless camera (Amazon | B&H Adorama).

Changes from “C” Firmware Version 1.00 to 1.01

  • • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused overexposure in photos taken in continuous release modes using an AF-area mode with human or animal face/eye detection.
