Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Sensor Tested at DxOMark

DXOMark just published their review of the sensor inside the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. According to test results Canon EOS-1D X Mark III achieves an overall DXOMark score of 83 points which puts it at the 47th place in all the full-frame and MF sensors.

When we look at similar cameras, Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Sensor scores less than the Nikon D850 (100) or the Sony a7R IV (99). To compare the 1Dx MkIII with another sport oriented camera, the Sony a9 II scores significantly better with 93 points.  On the other hand the EOS-1D X Mark III sensor score is even behind the EOS-1D X Mark II (88).

Leica SL2 Firmware Update Version 2.0 Released

Leica Camera has released a new firmware version 2.0 for Leica SL2 mirrorless camera (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon).  Version 2.0 includes a new Multishot feature that creates 187MP high-resolution photos.

The Leica SL2 is a L-mount full-frame mirrorless camera for professional stills photographers and videographers. It comes several significant updates and design changes when compared with the original Leica SL.

Full Canon EOS R6 Specifications

Full Canon EOS R6 specifications leaked. According to the details Canon EOS R6 users will be getting Log profiles but no RAW videos. For videos Canon EOS R6 also offers 10-bit output.

We think the absence of RAW video isn’t a big deal as Log curves are enough to get the most tonal range out of the sensor.  Canon EOS R5, EOS R6, and 6 new RF lenses with 2 teleconverters now confirmed and to be announced on July 9th.

Canon EOS R5, R6 and More to be Announced on July 9

The official announcement of Canon EOS R5 and R6 will take place on or around July 9, 2020 !  Canon EOS R5, EOS R6, and 6 new RF lenses with 2 teleconverters now confirmed and to be announced on July 9th.

According to the source, the Canon EOS R6 body will start shipping in August, on the other hand Canon EOS R5 won’t begin shipping until September. Release dates may change due to Covid-19 pandemic but sooner or later we will meet these Canon full frame mirrorless products this Fall. The Metal L-Plate for FUJIFILM X-T4 from UURig is a machined aluminum camera grip with an integrated Arca-style dovetail for quickly mounting into a compatible style receiver.

The plate’s machined areas allow full access to the camera’s side ports and battery compartment, with a cutout allowing a power supply cable access to the battery door. The anti-twist lips and rubber traction pads secure the camera body in place and prevent unwanted movement. The hand grip features a leather-like design for comfortable grip and traction.

An integrated cold shoe allows an external microphone or other accessory to be conveniently mounted. It also features 14 accessible 1/4″-20 mounting sockets on the sides and bottom of the plate, allowing the grip to be mounted directly onto a tripod or other rig. Sony Announces Replacement Program for Some SD Memory Cards

Sony has issued a product advisory for three of its SD card product lines, stating video captured with these cards could become corrupted without warning.

The product advisory says cards in Sony’s regular SF-M cards, the TOUGH SF-M series, and the TOUGH SF-G series are affected by an issue wherein ‘data on [the affected cards] may be damaged or data may not be recorded correction when shooting video on a camera in the video speed class mode.’ No further information is provided on what exactly is causing the problem, but Sony says it’s offering replacement cards through March 31, 2022 for SD cards currently under warranty.

Canon EOS R5 Body Could Costs €4,500 in Europe

According to recent reports the upcoming Canon EOS R5 camera body could cost €4,500 in Europe.

The Canon EOS R5 is the most anticipated camera in 2020 with lots of amazing features and it is expected to be the best selling mirrorless camera in 2020. We know many features of Canon’s high-end MILC but the big question qould be how much will Canon EOS R5 cost?

Previously the Canon EOS R5 said to be priced under $4,000 USD (maybe $3,999 USD). Now trusted sources claims that the Canon EOS R5 will have a MSRP of €4500 in Europe. Keep in mind pricing in Euro also includes VAT. So this also means the price of Canon EOS R5 in USA will definitely be below $4000 USD.

Rumors: Sony a7S III & FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM Lens to be Announced in Late June

Sony will have a big product announcement by the end of June. The company currently has two new camera codes registered :  WW271448 and WW850128.

According to latest rumors, at least one camera (probably Sony a7S III) will be announced at the end of this month along with the already leaked FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM lens  (SEL1224GM).

This time there are multiple sources confirming that the Sony A7s III is on the way and be announced in June 2020. With this major announcement Sony plans to respond to cameras like the Panasonic S1H and the Canon EOS R5.
